Just saw on Dave’s FB page that Betelgeuse may go supernova soon (from our point of view). Now that would be cool I've been reading about this for the past week or so and it is actually very unlikely to happen in our lifetime. They expect it to happen in the next 100k years. The fading is likely due to the overlapping of the short and long fading cycles but anything is possible. What is really cool is it would be as bright as the full moon for several weeks and visible during the day.

Me think the nam is a bit over zealous. 2-5inches over the metro. Lol Would certainly place your forecast in jeopardy Never forecasted anything except to say weren't getting much at all, like nws and other have. If we get 2inches I'll hang my head in shame.

Heavy rain has definitely been set up to the west and north west so far. I’m good with that. However I wouldn’t mind a good thunderstorm

Like snowstorm has said knowing where the placement of that meso band sets up near the metro is like gambling. Another now casting situation once again. Though, the NAM did a decent job picking up the location of the meso bands 24 hrs prior to our recent Dec snowstorm.

Is the basic severe threat winding down? Looks like another batch of severe weather in Arkansas moving this way. Whether it will stay that strong is another question.

Is the basic severe threat winding down? I wouldn’t say that yet. Short term models still have a period on intensification of the main line here in a couple hours.
