I just dont believe it is going to happen. When i saw the strength of the high pressure last night. I had a gut feeling its over. Which is good because is plpw drivers dont want Ice and we still got to pre treat. You were calling for warnings last night.

I've been on this forum since 2006. 99% of the time we are wrong. Its not you, you're just learning trends and also sometimes we're pessimistic as hell only to get what we wanted.

It probably wouldn’t hurt to not go from shouting ice storm warning to bust in 12 hours...
Tempering interpretation of model data and real time trends leads to less significant swings. Aim small, miss small and what not.
Could also just be stuck in a forecasting drought though.

Don't know if it will transfer east, but this was almost a non event at Lake of the Ozarks...steady rain at 32* and very little ice accretion. The warm rain falling is melting anything we had.

I'm thinking the lull that we saw this morning helped to warm 2M/surface temps a bit and lower accretion potential but with wet bulbs still running in the mid/upper 20s we're still going to see elevated accretion at least for several hours.

That was the difference no doubt. And what will make this a non-event in our area. Also, if you don’t want to feel physically ill don’t look at the teleconnections the last couple days. This winter is officially going down the pooper.

I will never think that an ice storm failing to live up to hype is a bad thing. 2006 was more than enough for me.

The dry donut hole is just about filled in on the composite radar. Steady precipitation should break out all over the metro soon . Temps should fall a couple degrees for a while due to wet bulbing

I will never think that an ice storm failing tllo live up to hype is a bad thing. 2006 was more than enough for me. I just hope the school districts aren’t saying to themselves, why did we cancel school today? I'd bet they are. When these kinds of events occur, I think it makes them less likely to make the call next time. I also bet the parents are saying the same thing, especially those that think winter weather is no big deal.
