I also am starting to think that my number - 20 inches of snow is now in jeopardy. I think Lambert is around 12 or 13 right now, and the chances of a snow of six inches or greater with current patterns are looking quite slim. No snow in sight in any of the operational models right now, but late Winter and early Spring, things can change. I'm 50/50 on it now. Some of the operational models are starting to look thunderstormy in the next 10 days. Hope everyone had a Happy Washington's Birthday today! I'm looking forward to a pleasant Saturday this upcoming weekend.

First true zonal pattern in the upper levels and surface in a while. All it takes is a shortwave to bring us a bone. Usually the shortwaves aren't modeled well until soon before their delivering.

It’s a parking lot shot, but there’s a strong 3’+ in the woods. I’ll have better tomorrow in the true lake effect belt.

Don’t know why but got a feeling we have had our last big snow of the season. We still might have a 1 or 2 in type event but I think we are done with the big stuff.

You might right, but we still have a good month and half plus with a history a big snow around here so I wouldn't take anything off the table. Heck several years ago parts of Arkansas (of all places) had several inches of snow in May!

Hey WSC, this was the march snowstorm that brought St. Charles thundersnow right? /photo/1 I think that was the storm with an extremely narrow band of heavy snow. It wasn’t modeled like that, so many were freaking out lol. BRTN frequently mentions it as some of the heaviest snow he has seen. St. Charles got in on the band for a couple hours and picked up close to 6 inches. I don’t recall thunder snow, but it was 12 years ago. Palm Sunday was cooler in St. Charles. I had close to 18 inches of snow

I don't recall getting any snow from the Palm Sunday storm. I know it was raining while others were getting thundersnow. That map shows I saw a half foot. Hmmm....

There was definitely thundersnow on March 4th, 2008...still the heaviest snow I've ever witnessed at 3"/hr+ with 500ft visibility. I believe we got about 8-9" in Brighton.

If it was a month earlier would have been a 15-20" I remember it well. Snowed heavy for hours while temps were above freezing. Managed to get to a foot only to have it melt as soon as the snow stopped falling. Was definitely a weird day.

What are the radar returns north of the city both moving west and hanging along the Mississippi?
Flocks of birds?

I remember watching the March 2008 snow band sit just to my west ALL DAY LONG. I was absolutely furious. I was going to Jeffco at the time so at least I got to see what was left of it on the ground. I believe a few days later it was like 75 degrees.
The March 2013 storm started with heavy sleet/snow and several rumbles of thunder. Snowed light through the middle of the day so it didn't accumulate too well. As night fell we were able to nickel and dime ourselves to about 3 inches. I remember it being in the low 20's that next Monday morning with a brisk breeze and being amazed at how much it looked and felt like the dead of winter in early spring.
