Hey WSC, this was the march snowstorm that brought St. Charles thundersnow right? /photo/1 I think that was the storm with an extremely narrow band of heavy snow. It wasn’t modeled like that, so many were freaking out lol. BRTN frequently mentions it as some of the heaviest snow he has seen. St. Charles got in on the band for a couple hours and picked up close to 6 inches. I don’t recall thunder snow, but it was 12 years ago. Palm Sunday was cooler in St. Charles. I had close to 18 inches of snow Palm Sunday...14" of heavy wet snow in Northern Wildwood!! March 24, 2013.

What are you guys talking about?
EDIT: Must be referring to the lack of model data.

What are you guys talking about? EDIT: Must be referring to the lack of model data. I figured it was a combination of raining fire from the sky (the sun actually shining) and it being Wednesday without a cold rain.

12z gem has the monster from last night's GFS going full nor'easter. aaaaaand tropical tidbits was still using 00z gem data. They usually have the canadian products out before everyone. 12z gem shows some sort of reflection of something next week, following rain and quick wet snow Sunday-Monday

Looks like another cold rain Sunday into Monday. Barf I think that storm will be really interesting to watch as the impulse after it tries to phase. Could be some prolific QPF numbers, but temps are a problem until you get to Wisconsin

You'd think it would be a bit colder with a 1045mb+ ridge sitting over the Dakotas...what a letdown of a season this has been. It's a minor miracle that we've gotten over a foot of snow.

Besides that December snow this season has been trashy for the S and E metro. Really starting to look forward to warmer days and severe weather ramping up

To my surprise some of our roads and bridges have been salted....radio says there’s a chance of light snow or flurries... Is this seriously true?

Mid to late next week I think still has potential for a snowstorm. We shouldn't have to worry about our cold air supply. Just need the right phase as others have mentioned. It's the best potential this winter besides the mid Dec storm.

I can safely say I have no idea what to expect next week with the potential event somewhere in the Tuesday-Thursday time frame. The models have been ALL over the place and I dont have any confidence that we are any closer this morning. Yesterday I went with rain for Wednesday... with the thoughts of it changing to snow Wednesday night (although I left that out since it is night of day 7). I really just wanted to show SOMETHING in that timeframe... but it could range from minimal precip... to a significant winter event. The 00z models and ensembles continue to keep the juggling. So, I am staying close to yesterday's forecadt... but trimmed down temps SLIGHTLY... and have rain changing to snow now Wednesday into Wednesday night. Im not focusing too much on air with that system... just calling a time of interest.
