Very little snow, maybe two flakes and then straight up freezing rain with little to no accretion in SPI. Odd considering there’s still a 5 degree difference between temp and wet bulb. Dry air worked against me up this way. I was really looking forward to spending the night by the fire.

Just took a drive up and back from Cedar Hill to Fenton. Looks like a crystal forest all the way. Temps hovered between 31 and 32 all the way. I think (as usual) High Ridge was the winner with the most ice accretion on the grass and trees.

Wind is starting to pick up with gusts now and still have ZR at 31*. Trees have a solid glaze probably around 0.1"

Well, the weather app on my phone says it’s going to change back to snow at 10pm, so at least I got that going for me...😜.

Wires down is becoming a popular call being dispatched for fire services in Jeffco.

Still steady rain and 32 in Wildwood. Trees have a thick glaze but roads are just wet. So close to being really bad though did have a few small limbs come down while outside.

Decided to venture out for dinner with friends tonight. Roads in WashMO were all just wet. Sidewalks at the restaurant were also fine. My north-facing driveway was VERY icy when we got home.
On a positive note, I had some of the best fried walleye I’ve ever had. It was amazing! If ever in WashMO, I highly recommend Tilted Skillet.

Tried to go there a few weeks ago and we couldnt even get in the door! Really wanted to try it. If you don’t drink downtown Washington on a weekend night really isn’t that appealing.

32* here now. Trees and everything elevated are coated in ice. You can hear the trees creaking when the wind blows

Having the prime accretion conditions occur during max solar insulation probably saved our bacon. Accretion has been very efficient here once the sun went down even with temps of 31-32

For those looking ahead...
We get a decent cold snap the next few days, a clipper tries to motivate on MLK Day but fails to generate much of anything, and then late in the week there is some potential but the cold air is retreating and limited.
I’m skeptical in the setup late in the week, but it is the most interesting thing on the horizon. There are runs of the euro and ggem that have shown varying levels of snow, while the gfs has been too amped. Some gefs members also look decent.
Worth a cursory glance, but I would suggest tempering any expectations

Yea , your right not overly exciting but worth a watch late week. You might be sitting good for a little more snow late next week. It’s good to see both the GEM and Euro showing a little snow.

I just got home from salting all day, the trees really started packing the ice on at sunset . We are still at 32 and light steady freezing rain in wentzville. There is a lot of ice on the trees ! We really did miss a big disaster by two degrees or a few hours.
