From the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete: 1.65 inches of misery yesterday. This transplanted Nebraska girl needs snow!

Sure is windy! Finland MN up near Lake Superior got 14 inches of the stuff that we missed out on! Hope our roads dry out before it refreezes!

Monday clipper looks a little healthier on the gfs and nam this morning. Would be nice to just have an inch or two to go along with the cold so it feels like winter for a couple days anyway. Gfs then takes the late week storm north while the other models have a coastal low. Temps would be marginal if you meshed the two but there’s a very outside chance of something there.

I'm not sure if the ASOS at COU is right but it says we got 4.54" of rain yesterday... Seems off.

NAM and GFS are both closing off isobars at 500mb with the clipper. With how cold the atmosphere will be any moisture will go a long ways in producing snow

Columbia looks to be in a good spot now. Clippers to tend to always end up East . How many times did a clipper look good only to drop 1-3” over Springfield and Peoria Illinois. Hopefully it trends East about 50 -100 miles

Euro has some flakes around here Monday, but even using the kuchera maps its less than a half inch. KC gets near an inch. Hopefully we can trend juicier the next few model runs

That video is nuts. That might be too much snow even for me, lol. Well, maybe not.

Suffice to say life won't be returning to "normal" there for a a week or two.

Here is the rain/ice storm totals. Overall not a bad forecast given the challenges.

And these heavy rain events are getting real old. Seems like that's the only extreme we ever get around here anymore.

It's too early to speculate too much but if these trends of above average precip in the Missouri and Upper/Middle Mississippi river basins continue we have to wonder if we are again getting preconditioned for river flooding this Spring.

So far the CPC is nailing the 3 month outlook they had back in November...

My family and I saw a bald eagle walking along side Muegge Rd in St. Charles today. We turned around at the next light to make another pass and hopefully get a picture, but it was gone. Has anyone else seen these creations in the populated parts of the metro area?

Well the Canadian has got the beef. Much colder and snowier for the late week system.

GEM is similar to earlier Euro, it has a more southern solution with more snow for Missouri. Totally different than the northern wet GFS solution
