EURO cuts off and sits on top of us dumping cold core snows.

Looks like the euro is about to phase the system right on top of us. That would be interesting

Snowstorm920, so that’s why the Euro is a dream! It’ll never happen!

Is there anywhere you can buy the full Ukie suite rather than just have the limited information the other pay for sites offer?

We are very close to a phase for the Thursday system. A blend of all global models would be a nice, if not a little unconventional storm.

Thru yesterday Lambert has had 5.87" of rain for January, and 2.5" of snow. I can't help but feel this is severely messed up.

Guys i would not say this has been the worst winter. I remember winters in the 2000s where we only had 2 to 4 inches of snow all winter. I think this mild winter is great for everyone as well as their health keeping spirits up a bit more as we are living a more tropical winter. Some times winter can be very depressing. This actually is a uplifting winter for me making more like a long spring which is a great time of year.

No one said this is the worst winter. It's been very mild, with some snow and a ton of rain. This winter is priming the flood pump for this spring.

Gem will look great , the GFS is basically on its own. It did trend a little better today. The GEFS was closer to the GFS. The GEPS is much closer to the Euro/Gem/Ukie models. The southern camp has basically every other model and ensemble I could find. I bet the GFS continues to trend south over the next 24-36 hours.

I’m really surprised my NWS forecast has no mention of frozen precipitation from Wednesday night to Saturday morning. I guess they are riding the GFS train hard.

Perhaps I’m wrong, but it seems like the GFS trends to the Euro tracks and the Euro trends to the GFS precip amounts. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to research my hypothesis though.

The operational runs in an outlier. Just looking at the GEFS and Euro ensembles, the best chance of snow is to our north with a strong signal for accumulating snow from Iowa to Chicagoland. There's a lesser signal around here but still a decent chance. I think we have a system of interest on our hands

Remember it doesn’t take a big powerhouse storm or tremendous cold for a good snow. Most come with temps around freezing. The gem is a beauty. All we need is the cold that we already have plus just a small push from the north which models are showing.

No one said this is the worst winter. It's been very mild, with some snow and a ton of rain. This winter is priming the flood pump for this spring. There were already warnings for the upper and mid Missouri River valley last fall. Every time Nebraska gets a ½“ of rain the Missouri near Omaha goes out of its banks. Won't take too much to inundate that area again.
