Varied between 250 and 280 for 4 hours. Wrapped in foil now, a cup of beef broth, 1/4 cup Dale's sauce and 4 tbsp of soy sauce to braise until internal is 205. Keeping the fire now at or about 280.

There is still standing water up here where there shouldn't be any. The NWS is already saying there will be flooding. There is levee work going on but it's not happening fast enough.

12/1/19 to 1/15/20 Chicago is running 8 degrees above normal and has recorded 4.9 inches of snow.
I know Boston just got a 4 inch snow, but had basically nothing before that.
This winter could easily have gone 2012 without a little snow luck depending on where you are in the metro.
Just trying to put things in perspective regionally and nationally.
And please God don’t let us be in the 90s in March

January might be skewing that data some because it's been a roast fest for the eastern 2/3rds of the country

It has been way too warm until this recent cold snap. Thanks for the the charts Snowstorm920. Anyone remember Jan 2005? It's the wettest Jan on record where 9.01" of precipitation fell at KSTL. KSTL is at 5.87" right now which puts this Jan as the 5th wettest on record. And we got more precipitation coming this week with it only being Jan 19th. We have a chance to be the 4th or 3rd wettest Jan on record.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for but gives a good idea for the midwest Thanks for posting this. Love the little patch in St. Charles lol. Interesting stuff. Should be some educational end of winter writeups coming. Where did Bastardi and Cohen go wrong? Bastardi probably because he always calls for extreme cold...

21z RAP drops just under an inch for most of the area tomorrow I’d imagine ratios would definitely be in our favor tomorrow? It will definitely be a dry powdery snow if anything falls. The DGZ is very low and deep so flake production should be efficient. Not seeing much lift which could be a problem

I can walk in the yard now, because it's frozen. That'll change later in the week with the warm up and rain, it'll be worse than ever. Can't wait.
PS Bastardi is always wrong, always cold, trying to debunk that climate change thing.
