There are some scenarios on the ensembles where very wet, heavy snow falls midweek next week.
It would take a perfect storm track and timing (night) for it to work, but it could happen.
Much more likely, a bunch of rain is coming and temps in the 40s or 50s.
Probably some big time severe weather down south with such a strong low (potentially sub 980mb)

Ok... I have a new nomination for coolest picture ever! Check out this tweet of a picture of that skinny snow band in Kansas! This really puts it into perspective! That's wild...looks like it's only about 6 miles wide going by the parcels.

It was about 12 miles wide on average , probably one of the weirdest weather events I have ever seen. The areas that received 8-14” had snowfall rates of 2-4” for a few hours with near zero visibility

Which models are showing precipitation? I didn’t notice any showing much at all ? Short term models mainly. Surface temps will be warm so probably a rain/snow mix if we see any snow at all

Happy to announce that my wife and I welcomed our son into the world yesterday afternoon. The most incredible feeling in the world to be a dad to say the very least! As it pertains to this forum I was a junior in high school when I found “The Corner.” Life is good! The bit of snow this morning was a nice touch. Many congrats to you and your family!

Thanks for all the kind words and congrats everyone! It’s just an indescribably beautiful thing. Hopefully we can get some good snows over the next few years that he can get out and enjoy. Adds an element to my wish casting prowess . Today marks 3 years since the Perryville tornado. Having a child suddenly changes my thinking on how I handled it that night. I wanted to see it so badly and I knew it was sliding just to my north. I kind of better understand my wife’s urging to stop being stupid and get downstairs better now! I did see the green power flashes and had it been daylight, I would have been able to see that beast out of my side window. Obviously Chris would have been able to on I-55 as well. It was the strongest tornado of 2017.

Hard to believe that tornado was three years ago. That was the scariest night of my career.
As for today, getting reports of grauple with the activity racing out of central Missouri. That should sweep into STL metro by around 915am. Showers...mostly rain...but mixed with some variety of snow/grauple/etc. will dot the skies for much of the rest of today.

Surprised to see a little graupel and/or sleet falling, it’s 40°, melts as soon as it hits something.

I'll try to post some radar and mesoanalysis archives of the Perryville tornado when I get home tonight. Definitely one of the most notable tornadoes in our area.
