Hope you feel better soon Mr. Higgins, staying home from work and taking care of a son tomorrow and wife. Half the family battling something. Did the SPC have anything up for today for down this way ? I’m asking others on the board. Hope and want our fearless leader to focus on recovering and getting better. Appreciate all the teamwork and posts from everyone tonight as storms moved through. Had sister in Jackson area and she doesn’t have a basement. Looks like these cells are about to clip me and some head south of me into northern Perry county. Dad sent video from Perry county storm that showed pretty small but heavy hail falling earlier this evening as Perryville noted.

Imagine my suprise to come out of my coma to see radar lit up like early May. I thought I was hallucinating...which is definitely possible. Guess I missed that forecast. If I had th energy I would post something on facebook...but I got nothin. This may be one of the worst flu bugs I have had in years...that or my pain tolerance is not what it once was. If it is of any assurance to you, our photog said last Monday he couldn't even get out of bed, worst he's felt in several years. Took him a few days to get back to. He's in his late 20s. Whatever is going around seems like it's got some folks' numbers.

As best as i can tell most of the fun stayed south of the viewing area. Some reports of hail in the viewing area and for a good while it looked to me that perryville cld get on strong storms bc it looked like a boundary was moving north. Afterall, they are their own tornado alley, but the real strong stuff stayed south for the most part.

I was off the grid yesterday but what was the risk associated with this yesterday? Or was there even one posted?

Just finally talked to my mother. She lives just north of I40 in Nashville, in between Donelson and Mt Juliet. Thankfully she doesnt have any damage to her home. There is debris in her yard. Best I can tell she may be 1 mile north of the damage path. Hard to comprehend. In 1998 a tornado took almost the same path. Prayers for Nashville and the surrounding areas. Large tornadoes at night in densely populated areas is a recipe for disaster. Warnings saved lives last night. Thank you NWS for all you do.

Midweek next week looks interesting from a wintry perspective.
Cold air looks to get coaxed down early in the week and then it’s all about if the remaining energy can spin up and draw it in.
Winter is pretty much done, but as the 00z ggem shows, there is still a chance

Local news channels in Nashville are reporting 10 as well. I would expect that to go up as the day goes on.

Fox news reporting 19 confirmed fatalities now.
Been busy lately and hadn't really paid much attention to the threat yesterday. I guess I should have!

Why are they testing the sirens again today? Due to Nashville's tornado??

Putnam county has 14 of the 19 reported fatalities in last nights tornado in Nashville. Putnam is east of Nashville and where Cookeville is centered. Not sure of the infrastructure out that way but my best guess is given time of day and other outages suffered before hand may have had a hand in the number being greater out that way.

Seeing some damage pictures of completely demolished homes and some where almost cleanly wiped foundation slabs are the only thing left. Impossible to know construction quality, but generally that'll get you into the violent categories.

EF5... cant rule out...but they will bring in national folks before going that high. I was obviously out of comission for the event... but from what I can tell, the highest outlooked risk for Nashville was Marginal. Is that correct?
