GFS looks at least halfway interesting for some stormy junk with in the next 7-10 days. We would need a negative tilt or diving northern stream wave, as the cold air is quickly shuttled north and east of the region. Rain and mud incoming. I meant in terms of potential svr wx. Deep moisture making some good runs in the 12z gfs by mid-month.

Remember the gold ole days when we’d get 35mph W/NW winds and the temp would drop 50 degrees? Yeah, me neither.

GFS was a soaker late next week... had a pretty stout instability plume the following Monday ~17th, similar to its 12z run yesterday.

Could be interesting if they are already highlighting that area for severe weather. 🤗

Next weekend looks vaguely interesting on the Icon and gfs.
Pretty strong high pressure trying to help us out, but it’s probably too late

I really hope we don’t get too cold for too long. Everything is starting to turn green and with some rain this week that will just jump start it even more. I have trees with little leaves already!

COVID19 case in stl. Girl in 20s, studied abroad in Italy This is actually starting to scare me, especially with my new baby. Hopefully she was mindful of not going out much when she got back. It really looked like it was petering out but the last week it has really shot up again. May have undergone a mutation. I’m just as worried about the economic impacts.

Heard that Wash U had 35 students return from Italy earlier this week. Not sure if true or not. I'm sure there are thousands of cases in the country...testing would be nice.

Well both the GFS and Euro have snow here in 6-7 days Definitely some interesting trends later next week...very impressive arctic ridge across Canada and the N tier which could be strong enough to get cold air in place ahead of that system. Position of the ridge isn't ideal, but a strong confluence across the lakes allows some of that cold air to spill southward.

Got a COVID case in Omaha. Lady came back from England, and the proceeded to play in a Special Olympics charity basketball game, a VFW dinner, and then several health clinics before she was diagnosed with pneumonia and placed into isolation. That is so many people exposed.

Yeah..like I said the number of cases in This country right now is in The thousands. Testing will confirm this as the numbers climb rapidly in coming days and weeks. The tdsting needs to happen for millions..not the 2000 so far. Sad.

The tdsting needs to happen for millions..not the 2000 so far. Sad. The testing cuts both ways... You’ll find a lot of people with mild cases making the mortality rate drop substantially. It’s running at like 4% in the U.S. but when the testing ramps up, you’ll see that percentage move a lot closer to the flu.
