Models starting to show a decent snow for northern Missouri through central and northern Illinois Sunday night.
Not seeing much hope for metro STL, but some of the northeastern Illinois counties are still in play.

Yes theres criteria that you have to meet. I do believe your dr shld hv said self isolate for 15 days...not until your fever free. You treat all viruses the same so whether you test positive is moot. Just rest and have a family member who does not live with you or a friend not in your household get you anything you need. I wish I could. Unfortunately my job is requiring me to report to work Monday. Only way I get off is if I have a positive test. and this is why this country is stupid. Your dr is pretty sure you have it, yet you can't get tested because of the requirements for it, and your work won't let you off So now you can go spread it to a bunch of people..sounds like a plan.

I don't know much about gardening, but I planted a couple of lilac bushes last fall and they have some nice green buds on them. With the cold temperatures coming overnight is there any need to cover budding shrubs? Yes

For those looking for TP, an easy alternative for those not on septics, flushable wipes. You use less and most importantly, you can still buy them. Wrong......they aren’t good for lagoon systems either and tend to clog up sewer lines in residential areas.

Lol. They’re for when the TP runs out anyway. They legit say flushable and even septic safe. I guess I’ll sue the company when my sewer line is shot.

Dont use flushable wipes. They will likely clog your sewer up, along with your neighbors. The sewer district will likely fine you. This actually was a case in st louis a couple months ago too.
As far as missing work, employer needs to understand that if a worker has something and that something will get spread around. I dont understand why a company is ok with spreading cold and flu germs around, especially if you have not been tested.

Well just cancelled my hotel reservation at the lake next weekend as the wedding has been pushed back to late summer. Hopefully this covid starts resolving itself but my chinese colleague at work says China may not be truthful with the media as this virus continues to mutate.

Both of those things are major concerns for me. Though South Korea seems to have come down off the curve and for the most part stayed down.

Toilet paper is the only product on the market that is safe for septic etc. Its because TP disintegrates and other products do not. Though I agree, I find it hard to believe that in this day and age of lawsuits that they would still be actively advertising flushable and actually septic safe without them actually being so. I’ve also witnessed some people use a ridiculous amount of TP which I imagine also takes a while to break down. Based on thickness and composition alone, the flushable wipes are thinner and the tensile strength is weaker than my standard amount of TP. I may run a test later and put each in some water to see. I’ll post the results. Even though I am teleworking for the time being, it appears I will have some time on my hands.

Ok. Now to my next soapbox. Politicians need a new term to use and stop using shelter in place.SIP is appropriate for tornadoes. Not virus threats that may last for 2 or 3 months. Responses....and go!

Flushable wipes are “flushable” like they advertise, but they don’t break down in water like TP. So technically it’s not false advertising
Man we really need some weather to track

If only that snow could move 100 miles south. At least give me something to track.

I've worked in Wastewater plants for the past 5 years. I've never seen anything identifiable as tp come into the plant, but I can assure you that flushable wipes do not break down. They bind up on mixer props, in pumps and piping and generally attach to everything. "Rags" are the bane of WWTPs everywhere.

The 18z NAM looks decent at 500mb for early Sun. A nice little neg tilt ripple to the west of us as we are in the region where cyclonic vorticity is being advected toward. The big issue is 850mb temps aren't cold enough. Still think we will see some some snowflakes Sun morning which I'll take before it changes over to all rain.

It's going to be close...especially up here. This kind of caught me by surprise but I think we could see some minor accums. up this way before it turns over...but that will be dependent on the timing. It looks good in the mid-levels with good isentropic ascent and large scale lift/DPVA...and definetely cold enough at 700mb unlike the last system. NAM also brings down an area of status off the lakes which keeps overnight temps near the river valley up around freezing...hopefully that's the case.

Also keeping in mind that the NAM has displayed a warm bias as of late...but the cooler mid-levels and good lift make me think snow could break out until diurnal warming and WAA takes over.

3rd death in MO now. All three spread across the state. Those that think this virus isn’t everywhere need to wake up. Protect your parents and grandparents especially. I know my mother (who is 63) is being stubborn as heck and keeps going out to help people and run errands.

Things are escalating pretty rapidly. Horrible updates out of Italy each day.
I’ll be heading out of Chicago and back to St. Charles tomorrow before things turn for the worse.
My brother is an otolaryngologist, and his concern level is enough to make you take pause. Feel bad for him and the frontline staff dealing with airways all day and almost certain to be infected.

What's happening in Italy is terrible, but their situation can't be compared to the US because of demographics and geography. They have the oldest population in Europe as well as a high percentage of smokers. And Italy is a small peninsula with a relatively high population size so the virus spread quickly and effectively there. I have also heard that Italy has a large textile industry with many Chinese migrant workers that traveled back home and returned during the Chinese New Year when the virus was emerging. So it's pretty much the perfect storm for this to spread rapidly there and have a higher death rate.

Be nice to go to a place that we don't constantly hear about this. I'll just go back and have a drink and crank the music.
