Chris, I caught a couple of segments this morning and looked like it was going smoothly. I'm sure Daisy would love to be part of the show. Take care and stay well.

Gotta love the models... They've reversed their trends from last night and are now wetter again for the I-70 corridor and points south with .25 to .5" QPF in this region with a sharp cut off to the north.

Seems like Trump is on track to 'reopen' the country by week's end. Most health officials don't agree, but an increasing amount of Republicans seem to be on board. Gotta love Trump, desperately trying to save the hallmark foundation of his presidency... The economy. Question is... At what cost?

Also no Olympics this year. Gonna have to wait until 2021 to see those athletes in spandex suits. What a bummer, though a probably a good call given the situation around the world.

Gotta love Trump, desperately trying to save the hallmark foundation of his presidency... The economy. Question is... At what cost? Political posturing. Since the stimulus is stuck in the Senate with wish list items unrelated to the virus from each side holding it up, pressure has to be applied. Plus, the move still does not negate States that have closed themselves. The staycation can’t last forever. Lastly, even if this lasted into the end of April, the economy will likely rebound quickly just simply due to people being able to go out and freely spend money.

Olympics being postponed does stink. But, considering the athlete’s training ability, the co-mingling, and it being the melting pot of every recognized country, I’m surprised the call wasn’t made sooner.

Meanwhile look for plexiglass barriers to be installed in all Dierburg's and Schnucks stores at checkout lanes for both customer and employee safety.

The thing is trump hasn't really shut anything down, Mayors and Governors have. So it's basically up to them to open things back up, which I don't see happening, because they will actually probably listen to medical doctors and scientists. Look at what is happening in NY, that will happen in other areas like CA FL and IL, and probably others. This is no time to "get back to normal"

Man, the E flow has really done a number on the last couple systems across SW IL...not that less rain is a bad thing right now.

Could be a couple of opportunities for strong to severe storms with the Friday/Saturday system. Some potential initially if the warm front lifts into our vicinity and then perhaps again later with the main cold front sweeping through if the timing is right.

We really need a stretch of dry weather before we get into spring. My yard is pooling water in spots it never has before

I was skeptical of putting some weed and feed down today. But I'm sure glad i did. Nice steady rain for a few hrs now. Growing season isn’t very active yet and the rain is just washing it off. Weed and feed should be applied when the leafs are damp and rain isn’t anticipated for 24-48 hours after application. Sorry to be bearer of bad news.

Yeah, the ingredients are there...still quite a bit of variance between the GFS and EURO in timing though. I was surprised to see such a small area outlined by the SPC in their outlook.

It should really be applied when weeds are actively growing. With the swings in ground temps yet and averaging in the mid 40’s still full active growing has yet to occur.

UKM was even slower with the cold front than either the GFS or ECM with a still deepening surface low and storms firing up and down the MS river Sat afternoon/evening. I think the warm front may end up being in play with the typical subtle and fickle chances, but yeah lots of questions on the eventual cold front timing.

So i thought it was a good time with the soil moisture and rain the the weeks forecast.

The rain is your downfall. The Weed ‘n Feed needs to stick to the broadleaf weeds for 24-48 hrs so the herbicide can work into the vascular system of the plant. I would think you’ll still get some fertilizer benefit though. It’s best to apply on a dewy morning with no rain expected for a couple days at least.

That's the way states are supposed to be ran. Federal is there to oversee and make sure things stay in check. Now, ole BJ in Chicago, in putting the regulations all the way to Cairo, the same as the cesspool in Cook County, is just plain wrong. S Illinois is not the same as Chicago.
IMHO, it's the areas that have International flights and travelers, is where the corona has spiked. Another thing, it has been said for weeks, by Dr Birx and Dr Fauci, that the number of cases will take off, as soon as the testing starts, which it has, and of course, all the media outlets feel the need to sensationalize it. And then you have a local news outlet that for some reason, uses CNN news feeds...
The thing is trump hasn't really shut anything down, Mayors and Governors have. This is no time to "get back to normal" anyone with a half of brain knew the cases would surge as more testing happened. I mentioned it on here weeks ago, a couple of times. And most news outlets knew that as well and talked about it. They also say that the current positive cases and what we see is basically from what happened a couple weeks ago. Numbers are going to WAY up yet. We will by far have the most in the world. And states shouldn't be trying to outbid each other on supplies like they are. Feds should have taken care of that months ago, when this first appeared.
