I was skeptical of putting some weed and feed down today. But I'm sure glad i did. Nice steady rain for a few hrs now. Growing season isn’t very active yet and the rain is just washing it off. Weed and feed should be applied when the leafs are damp and rain isn’t anticipated for 24-48 hours after application. Sorry to be bearer of bad news. Yeah but the grass in the drainage area is gonna look awesome!

This is also kind of a pain. I hadn't even thought about that. Ya know...these aircraft soundings are becoming more essential in data assimilation by the year. I wonder how this will affect model skill?

Yeah, I'm becoming concerned about the setup this weekend...it's looking pretty potent with suffecient instability and favorable timing. Clouds and precip have been an issue this season though...the very wet ground is surely enhancing that.

Saturday especially... 500 divergence is excellent This looks hailish.. hodographs are pretty straight, but Effective shear is strong

Friday evening is worth watching to. Models have the warm front running across the region with convection firing up. Could create a localized tornado threat

00z Saturday on the GFS over the metro. Speed shear is blah but that's a sneaky little hook on the hodograph

Wonder if the inversion in the lower 1500ft would keep it a bit elevated. Some hail potential with that though.

Wonder if the inversion in the lower 1500ft would keep it a bit elevated. Some hail potential with that though. That storm would be ever so slightly elevated. But sometimes along the warm front you get that extra spin at the surface layer that could bring the tornado threat to the surface

Love the severe weather talk. We need some action to keep our mind off this virus for a bit.
Now with that said, we can't totally ignore it either, obviously.

I'm really confused by SPC's convective outlook on Saturday. They talk of an isolated threat further north due to uncertainty in instability. Except...Missour, Illinois, Iowa, and even Wisconsin is where instability is highest.
Taking a blend of the GFS and ECMWF I would have drawn the outlook way further north.
