We're planning on having a bonfire for the youngest after their graduation parade. I might need to put a flag on the roof of the house so people can find it through the grass.

This is a nice warm dry week we're having. Just as expected a few days ago. Bleck Tried to get an appointment for an air conditioner annual checkup yesterday since it was supposed to be 80. But they were all booked. As it turned out they wouldn't have been able to do it anyway since it was too cool and raining.

Two dams broke in Midland, MI yesterday as a result of heavy rain. The town is being flooded. The hospital is being evacuated. The flooding may also affect Saginaw.

Some recent tornado reports but really it's like mother nature just turned the severe switch off for the last 4 weeks. Still no synoptically evident big severe outbreaks showing up in the models either with the jet stream and tropical airmasses remaining mostly disconnected.

I have to admit, weeks like this and systems like this drain me to no end. You go conservative... you get screwed. You go middle of the road - screwed. You go all in... its dry. I need a vacation.

How many days straight have we had some type of precipitation? This is getting old.

By my count, looks like 9 straight with at least a trace at KSTL. 15 of the last 17 if you go further back. Stupid, but at least it's been mild...

Well then... thought I'd be able to mow today. Going to be a 4 bagger (wish I was talking about bowling) when I get to finally mow!

There's no escaping the clumpy mess at the house. We'll mow it on at least 4", if not the "transport" height, then hopefully do it again early next week. I need to knock it down so we can have a small party...er...essential gathering...Friday night for graduation.

Still no synoptically evident big severe outbreaks showing up in the models either with the jet stream and tropical airmasses remaining mostly disconnected. This May has been horrible from a severe weather viewpoint. Record cold airmass to begin the month followed by a cut off low that kills any severe chances for much of the middle of the country. Still have 10 days to go in the month but nothing looks to promising

It feels like it has been a really wet 6 months or so. Next week looks like more of the same. I don't mind the mowing, but if it is wet then I have to rake which takes forever. I am kinda done with that.

So...MCS brewing to the west.... ZERO CAPE over eastern Missouri and points east... and a LLJ that is forecast to collapse and refocus back to the with time.
I'm banking on a significant weakening trend as these storms reach central Missouri... but we need to allow for some potential survival of a few thundershowers into our western and southern counties. I will be sweating out the details as this plays out.
