Murray, KY, sounding when things really get cranking. That's a fine line. If it was here, I'd end up calling for a monster sleet storm. We all know the capability of the WAM.

I thought I felt the earth rumble... that maybe Friv went KABOOM! Lets analyze before jumping aboard. But... could we remember thisbas the "Valentine's/President's Day Storm of 2021?"

Wow, I still hadn't looked at a precip outlook yet. It is awesome being able to get excited over a 500mb map, in my case. I found a 'new' high.

The deformation zone on the nam would be like 1-2" per hour for 5-6 hours.
The models are in consensus for this evolution...
The 12Z hrrr has 9-11" its not as developed.
Amazing

FWIW, the Davis on the swingset got to -1.3* at 5:00a before the battery died. Came back to life at 7:45a with -0.4*...so chances are we were somewhere in the -1.5* range.

Like I said yesterday...never, ever discount the last second NW shift with the deformation zone. My goodness. You're right...it takes the heaviest totals/axis from SE IL-SW IN/ W KY and pushes it back NW to E Central-SE MO and S Central/S IL.

The thing is almost the entire column can support ice Crystal growth.
Expect a mix of dendrites, smaller flakes, some cotton balls..
All falling in a blinding sheet of snow
