Still hints the PV will want to play again after a brief 5 day vacation only to return in early March. Not a direct hit, and southeast Ridge will be budging in, but enough that overrunning events and even another bout or 2 of significant winter weather might be possible first 8-10 days of the month. After that we should see a more persistent arrival of Spring. Man I hope this pattern lasts into May with a bit of a northwest shift second half of Spring. would be a wicked severe storm pattern.

Just amusing we're so amped up about a few tenths of an inch of QPF. amazing what super high ratios can do.

Just amusing we're so amped up about a few tenths of an inch of QPF. amazing what super high ratios can do. Have you tried measuring. I just went out and from what I can tell we got 1.5-2" from round one. The wind has really blown things around. But measuring about 20 different spots all yielded 1.5-2".

NAM maintains a coupled jet structure across the region tomorrow afternoon...deep lift and very efficient snow growth should result in lots of high ratio fluff.

Seemed like it would be more, and wind might be an issue, but I just measured right at 1” on the unplowed street in about 10 different places just to the southeast of Festus about 5 miles.

This sounding tomorrow should speak for itself, and a sounding like this is maintained over the area for several hours tomorrow afternoon

Just went out and measured a few spots blocked from the wind, and we have right at 1.5” in Mascoutah. You had a heavier band come through earlier, so I knew you should have a little more than us to the east of Belleville Just amusing we're so amped up about a few tenths of an inch of QPF. amazing what super high ratios can do. Wow, that's amazing 920...max lift square though a deep, saturated DGZ. Should be a wall of snow lifting through the entire region tomorrow.

Seems like model output is focusing on 8-10" in the Metro...seems doable.

Pretty heavy tiny tiny flakes at the moment. About 1.5 but as everyone has said hard to measure with the wind blowing it all around. Also still have a solid layer of sleet/snow compaction under it all from before.

Dry air has lost the battle here...light snow and a coating so far. Everything still looks on track. This storm is coming together nicely on satellite across the panhandle region.

The Springfield MO radar is amazing.
The HRRR brings that blob of snow ENE/NE the next few hours while weakening it some.
However we all have seen the models always break down these little pieces of vorticity way to quickly

It’s a beauty but only if it pans out!

How is the Wednesday system looking on the Euro? Basically a swing and a miss. Maybe an inch or so.

Dude I understand, the heavy return over me now will probably be it for my area. I probably got about 2" on top of what fell last week. Just eyeballing from the window. Hoping you get your snow and it comes down heavy and I get hit with the heavier stuff tomorrow too
