Most snow I've seen all winter. Cashed most of this in a 1.5hr timeframe. You will likely get yours in March and April. Even into may. Then you'll get a ton of pea-sized hail with your thunderstorms.

That system Sunday is still worth keeping an eye on. Some models are awfully close to a quick plastering of wet snow

Yep I’m ready for open windows and letting the chickens out to free range. Poor chickens haven’t really been out of their coop in weeks.

US National Weather Service Kansas City Facebook page posted graphics of an ice blockage on the MO river near Jeff City. Sorry I can’t figure out how to link it. An interesting MoDOT live camera view of the Emerson bridge from Cape Girardeau to IL. It looks like half the river is frozen and almost completely covered with flowing ice. Maybe someone can link for me if others want to see?
Could be some good pics for Chris.

I understand not wanting it to be single digits any longer, but I’m with Snowman99. Bring on more snow and subfreezing weather.
Nothing more depressing than watching a nice snowpack melt.
In Saint Louis it’s warm most of the year. You will all be waiting a good 8+ months once we flip to spring.

We certainly haven't had the usual number of days in the 50's/60's this winter like we normally do. We've spent lots of time in the 30's and low 40's for highs prior to this arctic intrusion. Where are we actually running temp wise in comparison to average since December?

From NWS Kansas City.... “We currently have a ice jam on the Missouri River north of Jefferson City. A ice jam is pieces of floating ice carried with a stream's current that accumulates at any obstruction to the stream flow. How can we tell? Note the river rise (right images) at Boonville and Glasgow behind the ice jam. Last time it was confirmed this occurred in our forecast area was in 1983-1984 (left image - the green line is Glasgow and the blue line is Boonville) although its believed to have occurred in 1989 as well.” I couldn’t attach the graphic, but another historic event related to this cold spell. Well this explains why there was no ice floating down the river yesterday in Washington.....I was wondering WTH happened because it sure as heck did not warm up up north.

December was 3.4 above normal, January 3.1 above. Feb is 16.1 below. So yeah, the winter is below normal, because of 2 weeks of highly anomalous cold weather. Rest of the winter was extremely easy to take, with the coldest temp being 10 on christmas morning, and hardly any snow to speak of. These 2 weeks were brutal, over the whole country almost, but let's not pretend the winter as a whole was wintry around here.

one thing that has stood out to me during this winter stretch is the amount of snow on non-grass surfaces that has survived the entire time. I'm not sure I've ever seen this much snow stay frozen and on the pavement like on the streets around my neighborhood for this long in decades. My court has been almost entire-snow covered for going on 2 weeks now.

In December the highs were 4.9 above and lows were 1.9 above In January highs were 1.0 above and lows were 5.3 above
kind of a wash

you know what we mean, though? like, it was always "49 and gloomy". no big heat wave and sunny days. it made it FEEL more wintery as a long stretch than it ever was.

Yea, I agree with this completely. It is actually unusual to not have those several days of warmer temps from time to time, though the last several years, really going back to probably 2012ish have taken that to a whole new level with much longer stretches of 50's and 60's along with quite a few records.
