Tornado sirens just went off over here in Mascoutah. Not sure why. There's a convectively induced meso-low in the vicinity but I don't see anything worrisome on the velocity product. NWS certainly hasn't issued a tornado warning...there's no reason to. Maybe someone "that knows better" decided to sound the alarm?

4.27.11 was an amazing day for wxguy, our former member from Hecker, and myself. I'll Never forget that day.

Tornadoes are a bit further E than expected. Scary to think that the worst may come yet with the stuff back to the west.

Evident debris ball on that cell south of Tuscaloosa

I tell ya, Alabama can't catch a break it seems with tornadoes the last 10 years or so.

Easy to see why storms are spinning and producing tornados in AL. Special sounding from Birmingham had like 350 m2/s2 1km SRH and 500 m2/s2 3km SRH.

I’ve already lost count how many TDS I’ve seen on radar
A long way to go with this event unfortunately

3 hour radar loop over/south of Tuscaloosa is amazing with the multiple interactions on the individual supercells being pulled/stretched.

I like using the Greek alphabet. Oh well...I guess the next best thing is the Marvel Universe villain names. Hurricane Loki, Hurricane Thanos, etc. have a nice ring to them.

Storms in SW MO are nastier than I thought they’d be. Tornado watch down there too. May want to watch those later tonight.

Good call on SW MO...that hooked supercell looks like it's producing a tornado looking at velocity.

Partial rain total for today so far is 11/16" (.687") I kept getting missed on all sides which is okay with me. Prayers that everyone stay safe that are dealing with the severe and tornadic storms this evening.

Things could still get nasty down south overnight but so far, fairly tame for a massive high risk. Lots of tornado reports but most were fairly short lived and in very rural areas from what I’m seeing.

I am trying to update my photo embedding qualities (or lack there of). This was the culprit that gave me unusually 'high' rainfall reading the other day. Well son of a gun....it worked.

I will try another one, since there is only 2 images on imgur. This was taken on 6/30/18 when we first got to our condo in Gulf Shores, AL. We still had an hour or so until the room was ready. I think we were on the 14th floor. This storm made for great belly boarding after it passed. ..

Here is 2 pics of the elevated t-storms on Mon. 3/15/21. The phone didn't quite capture the "Mothership" view I was seeing in the second pic. I am glad these were elevated.

This was taken on 2/17/21 at 2:40pm after the Valentine/President's Day Storm. Granted, this was on my back deck but it also had 2 days to compact. The 7.5" measurement was right in line with all the NWS posted snowfall totals around the area. BTW....... Is there another snowstorm brewing?
