Man this outage has been going on for hours. If this happened during a major tornado outbreak or something, it would be VERY bad. Yikes.

Mid 70s to Heavy Snow in just 12 hours time. It must be Spring in Colorado. Going for the all time snowiest March ever here in Denver. The airport I think needs just 2.7 inches to break that.

hopefully no sinister causes. i always wonder if events like this is a precursor to a bigger, wider cyber threat that can attack high impact vulnerable data centers, including our financial institutions, electrical grid, etc.

back, way back in the early 1980s, i had a computer science professor who suggested that that the Soviets could detonate a nuclear missile above our atmosphere and make 70% of the worlds money disappear. we were still in the grip of the cold war then. before things started to unwind for the soviets, there was an aura of doom and gloom and professors took the opportunity to remind us that we were on the eve of destruction.
i know today, many of us carry less cash thanks to the convenience of electronic options. Think of the vulnerabilities if the networks supporting the financial networks were compromised.

But that won't help me with the 7 day forecast just use your 7 day from yesterday, and a dartboard for the 7th day. 😂 you can even put it on the air.

It's the curse of the great snowstorm of 1890. It's extracting revenge for no longer holding the record for biggest snow.

We have short attention spans. No one will remember what you said seven days from now. We won't, but the general public will. And they will rail on Chris for not being within .05% accuracy 7 days out.

Are we skipping spring and going into summer next week? It looks to get pretty toasty next week with a ridge building over the middle of the country. Some signs of a western trough developing as well so might see storm activity pick back up

Lots of reports of gray morels beginning to fruit down this way. Unfortunately I'm afraid the freeze Wed night and Thurs night is going to make it a crappy season again.

Here's a "wow" for you guys. The GFS is showing a very anomalous event over Greenland at hour 96...a 1090mb high against a 970mb low for a 120mb differential. Sure, the GFS is almost certainly overdoing it and probably by a lot. Regardless, I have never seen such an anomalous event from the GFS in my 20+ years of model watching.
