18Z NAM looks fun for Friday with widespread wraparound snow showers within the upper-level low which is deepening southward towards St. Louis at the end of the run.

77 degrees temp over achieved a bit today I told people I was seeing 80 at downtown St. Louis and mid to upper 70s elsewhere. Looks like I nearly nailed it again. Not to show boat because I get it wrong a lot of times too, but when I'm right, I'm right and the reverse is true as well.

So in the process of getting my house ready for actually burning wood in the fireplace and using space heaters this winter, just in case Spire can't keep the natural gas flowing to the metro. My house is too big for the aforementioned, so if we have an outage, it's all to try to keep us and the pipes from freezing. I'm so very much less than happy about this. Why a NY based group was given standing in court in Missouri is beyond me.
I just bought a cast iron fireback, three space heaters and waiting for the wood rack parts from the Po so I can order cord wood for the first time in my life.

If the gfs is right, and how can it not be, there is a building winter storm in the area on turkey day with Arctic air pouring in and a sw low. Lol

Lol Is a long way off... but seen that temp set numerous times back in the day... when we would see the sleet storms that would aggravate the heck out of me. Blue norther where the shallow arctic air would move quickly down the Plains/east of the Rockies and then slowly move east ahead of the low.

My daughter's response was; Gfs? Sw low? What is this language? So while I was typing up an educational response my oldest piped in with Global Frost Scanner Snowflake Whirlwind 😄😄😄 Yep. That's it exactly!

State soccer quarterfinals for Class 1 are Saturday. It’s going to be a rough day to sit on the metal bleachers. Ouch!

Looks like some snow showers are possible Friday afternoon and evening Yeah, the NAVGEM in particular looks good for SNSH activity Friday afternoon/early evening. The mid-level cold core approaches just off to the north with moist cyclonic flow and a vort lobe digging in. That seems like a good setup for showery stuff. Temps near the surface are looking pretty marginal though.

Watching the temperature slowly fall. Currently almost 720. Been awake about an hour And my thermometer shows the temp has fallen 5 degrees to 52 in that time. The wind seems to have calmed some in that time.

State soccer quarterfinals for Class 1 are Saturday. It’s going to be a rough day to sit on the metal bleachers. Ouch! Former hockey mom here. Get a heated seat pad. I used one called Lava Buns. You take out the insert and microwave it just before you leave. Reinsert it, that’s it. Amazon, although sporting goods stores might have some version of it. Saved me from turning into a human popsicle, many a day.
