Here are a few pics of the fish massacree (Arlo Guthrie reference) back on 9/18 because of the hot dry weather.  A couple of big bass in there, closest fish on left side of pic (nearest partition in bucket) and the furthest fish to the very right. (bottom rear of bucket)  |

Man that stinks.
We went through that at my parent’s house.
Had a beautiful pond stocked for 20+ years then one summer it just didn’t rain for months and it was very hot.
Killed everything in that pond.

And last one...very heartbreaking. Still hearing distant thunder. We had that happen several times at our pond when I was a kid as well. The worst situation was a big thunderstorm after a period of prolonged heat/drought. My understanding is that the rush of cool water from the rain drops rapidly sinks to the bottom of the pond, leading to a rapid loss of oxygen (i.e., pond "turnover). |

The storm entering Washington County, IL, looks like it has potential. It's in a terrible spot for picking up velocities on radar, though.
