How did we manage to get 75 to 80 in December without wind. Was there an inversion, was it from the drought conditions acting more like a desert.
Just curious for any input. To me temps like today did not even correlate real well to the upper level temps as they were cooler than yesterday in the upper levels yet yesterday was not that warm. I mean we went up 30 to 40 degrees from morning lows today. Just crazy in december

I just seen on NWS site that STL tied the high temp record at 76* matching the record from 1970. And what a spectacular day it was. I am still shredding/chipping leaves and branches. Can't wait to do it again tomorrow. I use an old Troy Bilt chipper/vac. I have already filled 11 of those huge canvas bags 4x4x4 I think. Holds 10-11 chipper bags of leaves. 100-150lb when full. That's what it feels like anyway. Probably 6-7 more big bags to go. Great for garden mulch and chicken coops/runs. Mostly oak leaves, a few walnuts mixed in. It did a wonderful job wrt the clay soil we started with. We still need rain though.

That’s a beautiful look. I’ve pretty well written that storm off at this point. The NAM has had some major wins like that in the past. Would love to see the next 18 hours on it. Likely just toying with our minds though.

Video from Hawaii. Turn down the sound as it's overly simplistic.

Models are starting to pick up on a band of mid-level frontogenesis that develops roughly along I-70 Tuesday as the outbound jetstreak backbuilds and the trof sharpens a bit. They have also trended significantly colder. We may be looking at our first real shot of snowfall if these trends continue.
Get the Country Bob's ready!

Country Bob's is my choice as steak sauce as well, lol. New York Strips heavily salted on all sides, olive oil, and grilled for a ~8 mins gives you one of the best tasting steaks ever. Sauce not required

Not looking for much if anything tonight/Sunday either. Too dry and lift gets here too late. Just clouds and then back to Sun kind of deal. Southeastern most counties might catch in on some showers though.

Yeah the dry air is a limiting factor...especially considering we're in a short-term drought.

Drought supports drought. Gotta' get some consistent moisture in the air from somewhere.
