Still nothing but rain here ……. This is such a kick in the nards …… I told the grandkids they would finally have snow to play in tomorrow…..I mean it was a 100 % chance ….. Then you have the problem of over here where I am at. I have the temp profile to support all snow apparently, but this far east where I am drier air and weaker lift is going to limit accumulations. It started as snow and actually snowed at a good clip just before midnight, but the intensity waned to just a very fine light snow and still is. The ground barely has a whiteness to it. However, I will not complain nor be surprised as I was on the very east edge and drier air/weaker lift was going to be a problem. You guys that have saw nothing but rain or a very sloppy rain/snow mix only I feel for you. You guys to the west actually have stronger forcing/lift to get higher accumulation rates. There's still time I think as some of you have made the switch to all snow finally, but the rain has definitely lasted longer and been further NE than I expected. The WAA had to be underestimated by the models or something.

You guys to the west actually have stronger forcing/lift to overcome the slightly above freezing temps and get the ground white easily. There's still time I think as some of you have made the switch to all snow finally, but the rain has definitely lasted longer and been further NE than I expected. The crazy thing is I had a temp of 35 when the rain moved in and I’m still at 34.8 ……..

Light steady snow and still 34 degrees. Light coating on grassy areas and wet roads.

It's about 70/30 snow now but keeps going back towards a 50/50 mix.
Pretty large flakes.
If it actually became 100 percent snow it would be white outish

Currently have moderate snow.
Even more surprising is that in addition to elevated surfaces.
The sidewalk and parking lot are turning white.
The bare ground, rocks, and grassy surfaces all turning white quickly

Don’t know when it changed over, but can see some big flakes coming down with the porch light on, but doesn’t seem to be sticking anywhere, hopefully by sunrise. It’s only dropped a couple degrees since it started raining, now at 33°.

Radar still looks great for the Metro. Might be able to salvage a couple inches still with the band stalled along/W of the river and starting to pivot more W to E with time. But what a bummer that the rain held on for so long overnight in many spots. That shallow warm bubble fought hard. In the end though, most everybody will get some snowfall from this so it's hard to say it was a bust...just not the storm we wanted.

We have 1/2"to maybe 2/3"in Belleville.
But at the moment the snow has stopped.
Maybe more will rotate in. I don't know. This system is a huge letdown.

Approaching an inch on elevated patio table in marthasville. Just drove around Washington and most everything that is paved is slushy. Except for the notorious problem areas facing north etc.

I will go measure at sunrise. As I bet it will melt pretty quick once the sun is up.
I will be shocked if we get to an inch. But we will see.

I was spoiled last year with all the snow that fell in the single digits. Rain/mixing never entered our minds as issues with those events.
I still feel fortunate for last year’s snow!

Looking at my cameras at home and it looks like about 1" on the deck rails... ground is covered and trees loaded. Sloppy looking stuff.
