Looks like more darker greens showing up in composite view just to my west. Not as pronounced on base view but the increase in intensity is still showing up. Could be because it's just getting 'closer' to the radar site and can be seen better. Wouldn't it be nice to add more radars. Maybe, 1/2 way between here and Springfield, MO, 1/2 way between here and Paduch,KY, 1/2 way from here to Des Moines, IA. I know cost is an issue, but honestly, would that help the overall forecasting ability or would it just be 'you could see severe storms/tornadoes better? Is the radar in Columbia still up and running?

Looks like the radar is starting to back-build and intensify just west of the metro.

I went in and clicked on the Jeff City link and nothing changed so I assume it is down.

So... made a post about the bad roads... mentioned that interstate was driveable... but anything off the interstate was getting to be impassable to non 4wD. Does that sound like a call for people to go driving? How is that turning into a thing? I'm getting called out by some because they think I'm telling people its ok to drive! Is that what it sounds like? How could they read something into my post that was the complete opposite of what I was intending? Am I losing it?

2.75 in first wave. 6.75 in today so far.
As to your post Chris, some people will argue with anything. They’ll also test anything.

Just went for a skiing lap around Queeny Park and came back to 2 inches of fresh snow on top of my truck after little more than an hour...it was dumping the entire time. Please forgive my mild Doom and Gloom at 6:45 this morning, I had lost faith in the system but my faith has been renewed!

Looks like this last 'death band' could last a few hours bringing another 3" or so for those that get under it. Models still wanting to go south with tonight but still think there's a shot that ends up closer to I-44 and just south of I-70 in Illinois.

Looks like the sentence was "Interstates are drivable but not safe...once off the main interstates... becoming impassable. But not safe should've been taken as a warning, not that it was ok to get on the interstates. And, how are you going to get to the interstate if all other roads are nearly impassable?

Blowing and drifting significantly here on the hill in SG, but I just went outside and plodded around, I’m educatedly guessing 4.5 inches. Northern half of the county should have quite a bit more.

There is no way to interpret that as encouraging driving. But there seems to be a history of people purposely misinterpreting your posts/forecasts for the noteriaty of "calling you out" in a public forum. There was the lady yesterday who was calling your forecast a bust before the event was over...she either got her geography mixed up, couldn't understand a few words and lines on a map, or purposely misinterpreted the forecast. Pretty sure it was the latter based on some of her following replies. I honestly don't know how you remain so subdued with your replies.

The gulf has cooled down a bit recently, but it’s been running above average all winter. Have to wonder how big of an impact that has on systems like this and the severe weather we saw in December

They're calling for a solid severe season right along the Mississippi into Ohio River Valleys.
