Getting about 6 Inches maybe 7 at my place so far. Maybe another 2 to 3" on the way, so looking like a solid 8 to 9" here perhaps spots of 10 when it's all said and done.

So... made a post about the bad roads... mentioned that interstate was driveable... but anything off the interstate was getting to be impassable to non 4wD. Does that sound like a call for people to go driving? How is that turning into a thing? I'm getting called out by some because they think I'm telling people its ok to drive! Is that what it sounds like? How could they read something into my post that was the complete opposite of what I was intending? Am I losing it?
Well...I mean, if people just assume you're wrong all the time about everything anyway, they should just assume you're also wrong about the roads...right?

With social media, it becomes much easier to express your displeasure about something, in a more public manner, than ever before, no matter how misguided it may be. I wouldn't let it bother you Chris. You've done a great job with this storm and have properly conveyed the seriousness and associated dangers of attempted travel.

lambert has had .43 of liquid equivalent since midnight. What's the snow total? Per the 18Z METAR, they have roughly 6 inches on the ground, could be rounded up or down.

still smowing pretty hard but much smaller snowflakes....NNNooooooooooooooo Vis up to 3/8-1/2 mile. I still see hope off to my SW on the radar, but the heavier stuff that just went through sure looked to collapse pretty quick to the north east. Could be because it was getting further from the radar, but the radar was nice and green just east of STL then BOOM no green.

I was just about to post that exact same thing and add to it that after calling the forecast a bust, the same people will say how the forecast was downplayed and then after our local weatherman mentioned the roads were OK, people were unprepared for what they encountered. The older I get I am finding I don't even want to deal with 'most' people anymore. And being retired I have that luxury. I know a lot of people don't and my hat is off to everyone who has to deal with 'the public'.

Is it just me or does anyone else turn the loop speed on the radar WAY DOWN to make it look like the snow is not exiting the area too fast.

Took dogs out. Eyeballing maybe 5 inches. I'll go measure when it ends. If we get another couple inches, that won't be too bad. It will be about what I expected for around here. May go for a ride afterwhile and try out the new tires. If not, I'll take the atv out for a while.

Chris, I can vouch for on the 4wd comments, I have seen so many two wheel or front wheel drive cars stuck today, weather it’s St. Louis county/MoDOT or a lot of municipalities they are really struggling. 141 at earth city has like one lane partially open and the amount of snow that will need to plowed off is crazy

The heaviest snow is winding down... but light snow will continue for a while. Additional accumations will probably be 1-2 inches in the metro at most with 2-3 more possible southeast of us.

Got half way through plowing the drifted driveway and the tractor decides it didn't want to do work any more. Awesome. Suspect the fuel filters are clogged with algae and there's nobody at Seiver's in Jerseyville. Apparently phone lines are down from what I'm hearing.
This is why you prepare for the worst when there's a blizzard coming.

I just went out with the wife to check the chickens. Anyone know why in the world they poop in their water? After getting back I went around to my previous measuring sites. As I passed the boat I could see around 2" on the edge from when I cleaned it before. The boat is between the house and the outbuilding so not real accurate there. Previous spots were now a general 6" of snow and 7.5" thru 'the crust' to the grass. The driveway furthest from the house is 7" of all snow. I shoveled last evening to mostly bare concrete. THis measurement is also suspect because of the proximity of the boat. The grass in the front yard was 7" and 8.5" past 'the crust' to actual grass. Again, really not sure about this area either because of the wind direction coming off the roof toward the front yard. I'm sure the backyard lost snow to the wind also. This is pure guesswork. 6.5" snow from 2nd wave and 8" total adding 'the crust'. I will wait for either confirmation from surrounding MTW members or maybe a posting on the news from De Soto proper. And keep bringing the green radar returns. Moderate snow and blowing snow, small flakes again, vis 3/8-1/2 mile, temp 19* 7 miles west of De Soto. Really seems to be some drying/weakening sneaking in at central MO/AR border.

Looking like 6-7" here in Waterloo. Just a guess. Huge drifts though. Easily some 2ft+ drifts. My personal forecast was for 8-12". Not going to hit 12 but 8" seems doable by tonight.
