Shakes Hand: Well Chris, great job on this one. Looks like your forecast verified wonderfully all things considered. We picked up almost an inch about a half to 3/4ths of one and it snowed pretty decently for a couple quick moving bands. Was actually surprised what did make it as most models dried everything up once it got south of I-44/I-70, obviously a bit too aggressively. Great job on the forecast! Hand shake back. Forecasting is complex... equal parts science and art and communication. This system isn't quite done for the far southerns... that extra swath of 1-2 looks like it may be half a county further south than I thought... but not bad. Winter can go away now. I'm ready for Spring.

Right? I was glancing at the models and i think i heard a fat lady singing...or maybe she was warming up her voice. Singing or springing?

We ended up with an inch and a half here. It's a pretty snow, and not as many headaches.

Probably .5" fell overnight and today combined but at the time of measurement it was .30". Daytime insolation doing its number. We had a decent dusting on the grass at 6am before final push came through late morning.

Quick shoutout to two of the other big contributors and top brains of the MTW blog.... It was great to have dinner and a few adult beverages with Brtn and Coz last night. We toasted out the winter season and welcomed in Spring... while watching the Blues pound home six goals... which may or may not have resulted in a shot of some sort being undertaken.

Unreal...MEM is getting hammered by a beautiful Fgen band! And this is why we waited until morning to go on our weekend getaway to Hot Springs area. A bummer but I was watching some of the traffic cams down there and it was ripping hamsters.

I wonder how many school districts are wishing they hadn't canceled today? This is the first year that I can remember where schools have canceled based on a forecast, and not ground truth. Why do they seem to but into some of the outlandish forecasts posted on Facebook and other social media?

There are very few times that I agree with cancelling before the flakes start to fly. Today was definitely not one of them.

If schools still did delayed start times today would have been a good time for it.

Long time member and casual weather observer here. We got a dusting yesterday in my backyard (north of Bonne terre), just south in Farmington I believe they reported an inch.
Seems we all are ready for Spring now, (with the possible exception of good ole snowman99 🙂), and you can include me in that camp. My job entails some outdoor working and yesterday seemed brutal. I love snow, but I've seen enough this year, for my tastes. Age (almost 50 now), seems to be tempering my love of frozen precip.
I may pop in, during the occasional severe weather chance, but likely won't regularly lurk until the flakes are a possibility once again, come next Fall/Winter, Good Lord willing.
I just wanted to give a heartfelt thanks to all the knowledgeable contributors here, and to Chris for making this all possible for all these years.
Have a great Spring and Summer everyone!

Ended up with somewhere are 3” in SPI from the last storm.
On that note, I’ll see ya’ll around the second or third week of April, as that will likely be the last gasp of this winter.
Enjoy severe season and let’s hope we can break out of this seasonal winter pattern we’ve been in next year!

Mother Nature tries to screw with us just anyway that she can! My wife spoke with with her sister up on the frozen tundra of Perry, MO... eight inches of snow yesterday! Time to move on. Morels and crappie are on the horizon!

So can we assume with a decent certainty we have seen the last of the snow for the season?
