It really tightened up quickly...you could see the rotation even on reflectivity. Same with the couplet nearing Alton. Freeburg fire spotted a tor according to southern Illinois fire incidents on fb Not sure where they spotted it, but I drove through some pretty intense straight line winds around the overpass/Press Rd.

This thing avoided MBY like the plague...just caught the outflow and nothing else. Was hoping for some rain...didn't get squat this morning either. Beginning to see a trend here. Hopefully those showers make it, lol

Perusing FB seems like parts St. Francois County had some damage. Power outages too. Some suspicious velocity readings during the storms too.

Sorry Frivs. I am still here. Thanks for your concern. That's good. Power has been out here for an hour. It says it's been assigned a crew or serviceman. Hopefully it's not much longer

Well for once Perryville avoided much in the way of storms. I’ll take it, wasn’t looking forward to no power.

Was in central MO for work most of the day so missed all the action around here. On the drive back home did see some limbs down near Union and again close to downtown.

The back edge of this had some punch, too, with a little back building. And that cell up by Springfield has been nearly stationary.

Good news! I am finally officially out of the boot and now I get to wear an ankle brace and compression sock (this is for the lingering edema). Feels good to be able to walk quiet again!

Some of the damage pics from that area look to be a little worse than straight line in my opinion.

NAM showing a squall line coming through here Saturday evening. Not a ton of bulk shear but low level shear is pretty good along with steep lapse rates.

My day just wrapped. The EF0 in Warson Woods and I expect several others will be surveyed in STL County tomorrow. Two wave days can really suck the life out of you.

I have been asked by a couple of viewers about pictures of a feature shot near Chesterfield. The pictures I have seen all look like shelf clouds viewed from the side.

Reed's footage from Chester yesterday was impressive...very strong rear inflow jet winds. Definitely an inland hurricane type MCV event. Surprised at the lack of tornado reports.

Tomorrow's setup is a tricky one to pin down...the position of the boundary will hinge on overnight convection to the NW and the outflow from that. NAM settles the front/OFB across S/Central IL which would limit the severe threat in the Metro. But if that front hangs up a bit more, a substantial severe threat could develop.
Today looks steamy with h85 temps between 20-24* and 700mb temps between 12-14* should effectively cap any convection during the day.

My sister informed me she and her friends are in Divide, CO at an Airbnb for the week.
"Today Rain and snow showers likely before 3pm, then snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 44. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Tonight Snow showers. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 20. East northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches possible. Saturday Snow. High near 32. East northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible
Oops. The forecast did not suck when they booked. She said they are heading to Walmart now to stock up.

Already snowing here where I am on the north end of COS. We're in line for 6-12". Wild stuff. I lived there for over 4 years and never had a major winter storm after mother's day. This is rare, but one of my coworkers lives in Denver and said what they are getting doesn't even break the top 10 for latest snowfalls.
