Can/should we 'bank' on the convective showers/storms in AR to continue NE into our southern areas or is our air too dry to support them? That will tend to loose a bit of steam as it approaches but the upstream radar is encouraging so far, IMO.

That will tend to loose a bit of steam as it approaches but the upstream radar is encouraging so far, IMO. There is a lot more dark blue and greens in the radar than I was expecting. I'm sitting at 38* (7 miles west of De Soto) so I guess that could be raindrop signatures. Edit:Rant...I am in the 'No Man's Land' between 6-10pm where if you have done the unthinkable and used up all your way too expensive 'alotment' of GB's and everything just buffers and buffers. I hope no winter storms come through during this time period this winter. Let me rephrase that....Of ALL the SNOW storms that will come through this winter, I hope none occur between 6-10pm.

Wow the 00Z NAM is WAY BETTER. like what the heck??? Is it smoking the silly sauce or what??? Has a nice 0.25 qpf blob right on top of STL. This is a 3 hour precip panel covering midnight to 3AM. The 0.25" blob is for the entire event. Not the panel above. The panel above in the darker green over STL its 0.15"+ qpf for midnight to 3AM.

Short term models definitely aren't as aggressive with the amounts. Probably taking into account the slow change over for some and dry air.

Rap shows a jackpot spot just west of STL on top of snowman The Rap must be looking at radar observations.........or, they have direct input to Snowman's obs reports.

Soil temps are around 39*. Road temps are close to that I imagine. Temps will drop into the 32-35* when the heavier snow moves through. This is mainly a grass and elevated surface event for most of the immediate metro as we've all been saying for awhile now. Bowling Green to the NNW a different story generally.
That healthy mesoscale band is in Eureka now about to move through central STL county. Rain mixed in at the start.

Went from sloppy wet snow to healthy flakes over the last hour. We now have a dusting in Fredmo. Crazy having snow on snow in the first half of November.

All elevated and grass surfaces have a decent coating of snow on them now.
Can’t beat two accumulating snow events by mid November
