The end of my driveway is 800' +/- The house sits close to 700' 7 miles west of De Soto. A solid .125" and everything turning white. Temp still at 33*.

Just checked the cameras at the Farm in Vienna Illinois, it’s 33* and about an inch + on the ground and moderate snow. Snowed hard enough to knock out the Starlink. Can’t remember if I have the snow heater on auto, I’ll know in a bit, if the WiFi cameras come back up...lol Hope mine don’t go out. Have no cell service at home.

We might need to list everyone's elevation like an ice storm now. This reminds me of a snowstorm that killed rolla in 2010 but did nothing to STL While Rolla is further west, I think it's remarkable that areas due south and southeast of St. Louis, like Poplar Bluff and Cape Girardeau are having traffic problems with people getting stuck per the police departments, while it's raining here. Probably all about the precip rates, at this point.

While elevation is a factor, there isn't that much difference. I think lift is playing a more significant factor in this thing. The lift will be here soon. It was always forecast to be...the dynamical cooling is needed to break down the shallow warm wedge. yeah, shows how marginal this set up is, for sure.

I’m amazed at how quickly it went from 39 and just another rainy night to what it looks like out there right now. Just beautiful!

Interesting, fb friends said school closings hadn't occurred in Cape. They already announced in St. Charles County. I just got word that Jackson (same general area down there) has called off in the past 23 minutes. But it's bad down there. It might get bad in St. Charles. Storm might have caught that area by surprise.
