Fun fact: Caribou Maine had the same number of SPC severe watches all of last year as St. Louis Missouri...4. I'm glad spring is almost here so we can complain about the lack of storms. Seems like the only weather we can count on anymore is searing heat or flooding rain. ^^what this guy said

Chris, can I say HI while you're in Fredericktown? Not sure what the standard procedure is while you're trying to work.

We had a rough week down here. Without power for almost 30 hours. Our Lab/Rott pup that was healthy or so we thought, passed in her sleep that morning(12 years). On top of that it’s believed our well pump was the casualty of the power surge we got when it did come back on. So yesterday we got that hefty fix/bill. But after all of that, we adopted a pup from the Southeast Humane Society. Her name is Libby, she’s loving the ice. Thinking a Weiner/Lab mix. Much needed snow day today after that run of bad luck. So sorry to hear of your dog’s passing. We lost our Golden last weekend in her sleep as well. Terrible feeling. We put our Golden to sleep Sat. It was sooo hard at only 9 years old. They are the best dogs and cancer magnets.

Yep, i know its a standing joke. Nice to see you cover the edge of your viewing area, actually. Bet a lot of stations dont do that. Still recalling the tornado coverage you did.

Why is Chris down there? Nobody lives down there. 🤣 Hey! I live there....or here. This is a good little area to live in right between STL and Cape. Come on down and have some sleet, we've got plenty. I wish we could say hello to Chris as well. He's only 4 minutes from our place/Wal-Mart parking lot. But everything looks very slick out.

And by the way... I can confirm people actually live out here where nobody lives. Darn, I guess I should have stopped. My friend and I circled a few times and I started feeling like a stalker so we went home. Just didn't want to interrupt anything important. Glad you made the trip down none the less and gave us some coverage.

Finally just worked up the nerve to approach the vehicle lol. I could tell how concerned he was about that storm as it was approaching Perry county, which told me this was the real deal. Even with that he was very accommodating to my intrusion.

I would put the odds of us receiving any significant winter precip next week at +1500
That has cutter written all over it.

I see nothing that would indicate heightened ice storm potential in our region next week (or any potential lol).
Yesterday’s euro ensembles were bullish on a major SSW by mid-late February which would probably extend winter through most of March.
That is the most interesting thing right now. However, we know forecasting SSW is very hard for the models like everything else.
My money is on another stretch event giving us a shot at a winter storm around the 20th.

Pumping up what, severe weather? Ice. Never heard of him until someone shared his video on the STL subreddit I see almost zero support for ice anywhere next week...looks like we're going back into the spring-like pattern towards mid-month to me.

The way the pattern is shaping up, I'd say the last week to 10 days of the month into early March will be our best bet for wintry weather. This stretch has been classic wasted cold, unless you enjoy frizzle and a spritz of sleet and snow that does nothing but snarl traffic.
