I'll say this much, while it sucks getting missed to the north by this complex, there are a lot of power outages and wind damage in western IL from it. So let's all think about how no today and maybe tomorrow would be.

I am seeing dewpoints drop to the west of us with a NW wind. I really hope the GFS is not going to be right with it's 103+ temps.

My remote was at 104* on the porch (not accurate) but has dropped to 102* (likely, still not accurate) At Sullivan the past 4 hours the dewpoint had dropped from 70* at 10:30am with a SW wind to 64* at 11:55am with a WNW wind, temp of 97* back up to a dewpoint of 68* with a NW wind and a temp drop to 95*. I figure that the outflow from the morning storms across northern MO changed the wind direction from SW to WNW and with drier air and the dews fell a little bit which caused the temp to spike up a little.

My temp has dropped from 94* to 83.4* Wow, that is awesome. I looked at the radar to see how close the rain got to Belleville and could see the gust front/outflow from that complex. Also looks like the outflow has made it to central JeffCo. Hope it 'keeps truckin' south and west.

Naturally with the derecho now east of the metro, it's now finally making it's almost due south turn as it gets into eastern Illinois, almost following last night's MCS, just a bit farther south.

I can attest to this because it looked like the line would stay just NNE of me here in Salem, but a fairly strong southerly surge put me in lots of heavy rain. Luckily the winds were only about 40 mph. Edit: Over 1" of rain now and still raining.

In carlinville... found some damage. Anyone else have spwcifixs on locations of wind damage? Probably closer to ILX. Some semis blown over on 55, rest area up that way. Thats what i've been told by Hecker who is working in that area today.

I keep waiting for the outflow to go through. Seems it stalled in west-central JeffCo but has entered into and countinues south into NE St Francois County line. WTH

I couldn't find any temps even close to what the GFS was putting out. Euro is KING.
Unless, of course, someone else has other info that I did not see.

What a gorgeous evening harvesting in the garden already got some cherry tomatoes that I used for energy to keep going😁😁 It's hot as it was earlier just didn't think there'd be any way we'd make any decent progress this evening either watering or harvesting but it has been quite productive. We have a killdeer pair that have laid four eggs in between a couple tomato plants and we left that area just dirt when we were putting wood chips down. Them kids are going hatch, if they're still okay, with pure anxiety issues from the mother and father constantly squawking whenever we're near. Hopefully us working in the garden didn't make them abandon sitting on the nest too long during the hot parts that we've had. We know the eggs can take 24 to 28 days to hatch but we didn't mark down when we first seen them but it has to be close to that time.🤞🤞

Tomorrow does look exciting for a localized outbreak of severe weather. Also don't rule out today either. Not as widespread but most models do fire up some storm action later this afternoon and evening. The ring of fire effect will be going the next few days into Sunday with a lather, rinse, repeat pattern shaping up next week as well.

I just tried getting on twitter for different info and all of my bookmarks asks me to sign up. After some quick searching it looks like a change occurred overnight. Is anyone else having this issue that does not have an account? Doesn't Amber Alerts come across Twitter Feeds? I tried clearing data on the browser.

I watered plants and fed the birds. I'm as wet as the plants. Yuck outside. The Davis on the roof in North St. Pete is very thirsty.

Sure is looking like a nice active pattern setting up. We should all be able to put a dent in the drought over the next week and actually have some thunderstorms!

CU looking a little agitated as the boundary from the earlier MCS moves into some big CAPE

Might see some some storm initiation around the I-70/I-64 corridor soon. Plenty of CAPES to work with too along and south of I-70, of over 5000!
