Sorry to hear about the damage. And thank you for the reports today. They were very helpful! Gad to do it ! We were lucky , one branch landed on my boat but didn’t do any damage…… I have two neighbors with unwanted sky lights lol I don't see any wind damage reports from Wednesday in the Marissa area from the NWS, just the flooding report. Where specifically was the wind damage so I can make sure they get that included? Again, many thanks for the help!

The location is White Oak golf course …. There are around 35 houses out here that surround a lake, it’s about 2 miles southeast of Marissa…… I was texting with Dschreib and he also lost a tree and shingles off his roof ….. his location is about a mile northeast of Marissa

Can anyone post the radar loop for Friday nights' severe storm as it rolled across the river through Columbia, IL and then through east-central Monroe County into St. Clair County, IL?

I use this free site but I only see it going back to 7/2/23, which is past the time you want. weather.rap.ucar.edu/radar/

The evenings this whole summer have been beautiful I agree 100%. I didn't want to come in this evening, so I grabbed the guitar and serenaded the dog and 2 cats until 9:50. There is a fine line between serenade and 'torture'.🤔🤔🤣 I have had numerous times where 2, 3, even 4 deer have walked across the backyard within 20-25 yards of me while I'm 'serenading' on the back deck with the dog and cats. The dog just watches them. Never a growl or bark. It is so cool.👍

I sent Chris a storm video from a lake neighbor in Bonne Terre at our lake on July 4. It was pretty wild and only really lasted 5-10 min. The wind took down several trees around the shoreline. 60 acre lake. I thought he might get a kick watching it.

Forever The Optimist.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 We’ve been in a rough spot lately Yes we have. I just checked the gauge this morning and there was .063" in it. That must have been from that very heavy but very short lived thundershower around 8pm or so last night. That is the hardest rainfall I have seen in quite awhile. The grass here looks very wet and possibly even greened up some overnight, or it just looks greener from being wet.

Mid/late week looks pretty active on the models with several pieces of energy topping the ridge out west and rippling through..."guess we'll see"
One thing is clear...models have been way overcooked with precip output in the medium range.

Not even enough to register in the gauge. This is pathetic.

This weather is crazy …. We have missed every rain except for one day and in that day we got 3-4 inches in less than an hour …… never seen anything like it

haves and have nots. My grass looks green. I am no longer complaining about the lack of rain imby, but we need some area wide soakers. Lets hope that next week is not a repeat of a year ago, though. The GFS paints 6 to 10 inches of rain across the area with the majority of that occurring right near the anniversary of last year's deluge (wasn't it around 7/15?) Euro is not as wet, but all signs point to a soaking, and prolonged unsettled weather pattern. With these summer rainfall patterns, I realize it's really hard to forecast the amounts with any degree of certainty, but the fact that I'm still haunted by last year's event, next week certainly has my attention. It would be interesting to see two consecutive summers, two very different overall weather patterns, drop such a significant amount of rain across the same areas.

So hopefully this just isn't the case of getting old and forgetful. When did the NWS start putting percentages on any chance of rainfall after 3 or 4 days? I know early (2-3 days) in the forecast it would be isolated thunderstorms which is generally the 10 to 20% chance. Or the scattered thunderstorms which, I believe, is 30 to 40%, but they would just say the wording once they were out 4-5 days they wouldn't put a percentage on it. Does anyone know when/how long ago that changed? I know I'm sitting in the 'have not' category as far as rainfall goes, so a lot of the rain that was forecast did fall somewhere in the area but I just don't remember them having percentages laid out that far out in the forecast period.

While we have calm weather wise. Just a general thought. When the 4th of July is in the middle of the week like this. Why not have official celebrations the weekend before the 4th and after the 4th.
