I say we just lock in this run on the GFS ….. that one storm would make our winter would make the century.

Please share...for those of us that either don't have access to (or cannot find) the models, or, those who are like me who cannot read them even if it was in front of me!

Jan 10-12, 2 and half to 3 feet of snow. Strong winds. We see this on the models..esp the GFS usually several times a winter 2 weeks out. It has never happened. This won't happen either.

Santa brought me a weather station for Christmas! Nice to see flakes flying today, thought we were going to make it into 2024 without. What model did you get? I can't believe I didn't get one until this summer

Snow here about the last 30 minutes in the far eastern viewing area. So nice to see again...moderate snow with big flakes.

I just measured on the deck. We have 1 inch with light snow still falling. Definitely a beautiful snow falling earlier. The best kind of snow, is the kind that looks pretty and don't mess up the roads!

Yeah the atmosphere definitely exceeded my expectations for our area today with the snow. Hamsters. The little things!

It will be interesting to see if the band reintensifies as it drops south as the HRRR and RAP have been indicating around midnight or so.

Radar has really come back to life with stuff moving in from the IL side
Looks like most locations should pick up at least a dusting overnight

We lost all our snow cover here in Brighton overnight. I woke up around 230 and it was raining. Weird system for sure. Hopefully tonight's snowfall pans out.

I'm eyeballing easily a half inch...maybe closer to an inch of snow over here. It's caked to the grass and trees beautifully. Roads are just wet and the backend precip has transitioned to rain now. This was definitely an odd one as Effingham,IL which is about 45 miles to my NNE saw nothing but rain and temps never fell below 37* up there. I guess lighter precip rates and being further displaced from the cold core of the low were the factors in that one.

Enough to brush off with the scraper. Roads were just wet. Raining by the time I got to Fayetteville. Everything melted at work--Page/170.

Models seem to be waffling again with snow/rain chances tonight with some showing .2-.4" of QPF while others split the metro in the middle and produce next to nothing while areas to the east and west pick up on the moisture. Any clarity of what to expect or why that is, or is it just model 'noise'?
