GFS basically nothing Sunday/Monday. GEM and ICON backing off / drying up. Not sure I buy the northern fringe of snowfield outside the heaviest in Arky anyway. Should be on target to be zilch by tomorrow. Outstanding.

The snow maps on the models are hilarious. Or depressing. Something.

I thought the sun/mon system had a real good shot. But in the back of my mind I was thinking it’s really unlikely that little mess of a system can pull any moisture so soon after the Gulf has been emptied by these last two storms. Should have listened better to that voice. Now we enter a period of very pointless cold. Agh.

The models are struggling with how to handle the energy and PV lobe interaction. There is a lot of commotion in the atmosphere the next several days.

The UKMET looks decent for the south half of the area sun/mon
It won’t take much QPF

Let's hope the freezing rain is brief. Road temps have risen today. HRRR is showing no snow now lol.

It is difficult to imagine a more depressing week of weather than what we have come through for folks who thrive on winter weather. Few times in my career can I remember a more favorable pattern that has failed to deliver results... and done so in rather spectacular fashion. I do think the ready availability of model data to the public beyond the short range has fueled this because everyone can see the fantasy charts that pros have seen for years... but were able to ignore because we know better.

Nowcasting time. Chris just made a good point on air just now. This is a very dynamic system and it may surprise us.

Just got to Flint Michigan to visit family this weekend, was hoping to get in on the Winter storm up here but we're in the only portion of Michigan not under a warning at the moment due to uncertainty on the rain / snow line. It's just comical at this point!

My daughter just asked me tonight, “what types of things do you look forward to? What helps you get through a bad day?” I wanted to say “tracking a snow storm and then it hitting us!” But instead I said, and I’m not kidding, “..that idea of a snow storm hitting us”.

An hour ago you could see the road. Plow went through not long ago, and it's covered.

Maybe I'm trying too hard, but I'm a little intrigued by the quick moving disturbance that zips through on Saturday afternoon. There are hints of a quick band of flurries or light snow. Once in a blue moon (or three) I've seen those turn into big overachievers in a very narrow stripe. I remember something like that in Iowa a few years back that dumped 10" of pure fluff near Des Moines. Wouldn't that be a treat!

I think an early dismissal for schools tomorrow would be wise. Most of us in Jeff County are pulling the trigger on early releases tomorrow out of precaution.

Monster Memphis low modeled in January? Rain to cold.

I'm sure there are some of us that are a bit testy because this was such a great opportunity to cash in on at least one storm and it just appears that it was not to be. Add to the fact that we really haven't had a great storm to follow in quite a while and this is what you get. Still have a couple of months left of winter so I hope we all get to cash in once. I didn't have my hopes up with a El Nino year anyways so anything would be wonderful.

I definately have a headache, and not sure if it is weather related because I rarely get headaches. I feel for you all almost like the bombing pressure changes are hard to acclimate. Very weird feeling. Even tylenol doesnt help.
