The radar returns don’t look like it but it’s snow is coming down pretty good here. Any explanation? Snow growth zone is close to the ground and smaller flakes dont give the same signature as big heavy flakes

3.5" of new snow since midnight putting us on the brink of 9" storm total here in Brighton. 14* Starting to get that 2014 look with the drifts. Friggin' winter wonderland unless you're out in it. Hearing reports of roads blown shut locally. RTE 3 is horrible and downtown Alton is impassable if you are not in a truck or bigger SUV

Heavy salt shaker here in Ballwin. Do not like the looks of the radar I woke to. Totally eye balling it here but would estimate 3" of new snow but the winds are making that a very unscientific estimate. I do have a drift on the patio that is at least 18" from catching everything blowing off the roof. Radar returns lead me to believe that dry line is going to drop through here well before noon. No. Just no.

I wouldn’t count out Alton north getting 14+. It’s been crazy out this way. Somewhere around 5” I’d have to guess off drifts and dips.

A bit surprised NWS didn't hoist a WC advisory here...forecast is -10*. It's absolutely frigid out with that stiff N wind and 10* currently. I can tell ya that the wind at the mill has SUCKED all night.

Had 2 shots of holiday cheer before coming to the hotel: Rum and peppermint Schnapps. Glad I did, I needed it. I'm not a drunk, I just play one at the front desk. Rumple is just part of the season

Southeastern half of St. Louis metro missed the first round and with more juice coming in, that doesn't bare well for us with the last band now approaching.
Heck of a nice light show from the Belleville West Schnucks/Skyview Drive-In earlier on though.
To make an old movie reference. It feels like night of the twisters

Stars out in Belleville, and it feels like it's getting warmer? Strange night. The moon is visible in south city as that last mini hook came through. Atmosphere wants to be juiced

But what about the storms behind that frontage line? That's the one we've been waiting on. I used frontage wrong. I meant the front line from soco down south
