1.9" today at KFAM officially, with a large portion of that amount falling within about 20 min. There was a narrow, more intense band of rain that impacted a small portion of the SE corner of the city, however I don't have any measuring devices that I know of within that area to get an accurate measure of what really fell. The street and small stream flooding in those areas was fairly intense.

Rain rates are unreal with these storms today They really are! I think Farmington could use a flash flood warning or something along those lines due to some street flooding I'm seeing. Some serious street flooding in portions of the city.

An interesting tidbit from the NWS PAH conference call, only the third time ever in July has there been a Level 4/Moderate risk in there CWA. What did Paducah have to say? Going to hang along the river or sneak over into their western counties? Wife is a little skidish after the wickedness weather Perry County has been thrown these past couple years. I had to leave for a call during the briefing, however from what I heard, could see initiation as far north as Cape, but most likely it would along the Ohio river before they expected storms to become severe

Has anyone heard anything about any fatalities from the Iowa tornadoes? As of this morning, no fatalities had been reported.

Ya that's a big change to the Day 2 outlook. Looks like once again overnight convection tonight will play a large role in what happens tomorrow www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.htmlYeah, like having no SVR probs in Missouri to covering nearly the entire state.

1.69" officially last night, east of town in my rain gauge I have well over an inch more than the official measurement. Received some localized tree and limb damage in a very narrow north/south corridor centered on the middle Of town during the first storms yesterday.

Given the comments about next week and also those that August seems like it might continue the pattern of next week are we possibly through thed worst of summer? I'm sure it will still get hot - it's summer in St. Louis. But does it look like the there won't be any long duration heat? www.weather.gov/hun/climateforecastClimate Prediction Center not convinced beyond the 14 day period, and in the 14 day period they are only hedging at normal and not above mean.

Pretty amazing that they were able to successfully rescue all the boys and the coach under the conditions they were facing when you consider all the facts. And it appears just in time with teh monsoon rains moving back into the area.
