A private weather station in Bald Point, Florida, recently reported a sustained wind of 48 mph (77 km/h) and wind gust of 59 mph (95 km/h). The Apalachicola airport recently reported a wind gust of 58 mph (93 km/h). A Weatherflow station in St. Andrew Bay recently reported a sustained wind of 37 mph (60 km/h) and a gust of 48 mph (77 km/h).
Water levels continue to rise quickly along the coast of the Florida Panhandle. A National Ocean Service water level station at Apalachicola recently reported over 4 feet of inundation above ground level.

NEW: Florence is now a category 4 hurricane. Data from a NOAA Hurricane Hunter indicate that Florence has continued to rapidly strengthen and has maximum sustained winds near 130 mph (195 km/h) and a minimum central pressure of 946 mb (27.93 inches) hurricanes.gov She has really got her act together.

At what point does the "merge" between the front and the remnants of Gordon occur? Will Gordon move to the front, or the front sweep it up as it moves SE? Gordon just seems to be sitting in central Arkansas and spinning. Looks like very little northward movement at all. I thought it was supposed to be around Springfield MO. by now. www.weather.gov/media/lsx/sitreport/SitReport1.pdfThe location of the low appears to be on track with NWS guidance from the past several days.
