NWS looks to be moving the 8-12" snow band further south with the next update, basically southern edge KFAM to Salem.
FRZ RN graphics have been lowered. Metro around .10", KFAM to Salem and south to Cape .25" or less.
Otherwise, not seeing many other changes to graphics, however it was only a quick look, but NWS basically said that was the main area of change due to forecast quicker transition. Slides will be available shortly

Probably time to dust off the Sperry-Piltz Ice Accumulation Index, link below for those who are unfamiliar: www.usawx.com/icestormindex.htmA person can take this index and make a reasonable assumption as to what impact to expect based on ZR and Wind predictions, because as you will find, you cannot get focused on just amounts of ZR, the wind is X factor.

Just sit in on the NWS Conf Call, nothing earth shattering to report other than steady as she goes, and the forecast totals WILL change will plenty of time to still sort out the details.
Snow/Sleet in the metro is 5-10, they showed a best case scenario of around 4", and worst case scenario around 10". Further north in the band from Sedalia to Pittsfield 11-17", with a best case around 9" and a worst case around 19".
KFAM area, 2-5", with a best case around 1" and a worst case around 6"
I assume the graphics including timing and totals would be up shortly if not already.

Can’t take an official measurement since it didn’t stick to the measuring board, or concrete or anything really for that matter, you might stretch the accumulation to .5” on bare ground, and that’s probably too much of a stretch

Agreed, this is just noise Not going to happen, not even worth tracking. I am just going to chime in this one time and give you a friendly bit of advise as someone who has been on this forum a long time and watched many an enthusiast come and go, going from this to now predicting snow over a 2 day period is never going to get you any credibility with the folks on this board. We are all weather enthusiast or we wouldn't be here, however unless you are a select few on this board who are not only weather enthusiast but are truly talented in observing not only models, but all of the other factors that go into developing an accurate prediction of the outcome of weather, then it is best to do what most do here and not give opinions, but simply state what model ABC and XYZ show. Not trying to call you out, simply trying to help you out, because if we have something of significance, you will get brutalized.

A couple short rounds of moderate freezing rain in the last hour. Untreated surfaces such as sidewalks and driveways are ice covered.

Driving through Nashville this evening on the way to marathon Florida So far roads to cape have been dry Been some big pile ups in Kentucky today, mainly in norther part of the state, but I would still be sure to watch some type of live traffic monitoring application to stay ahead of any potential parking lot. I personally use Waze when I travel.
