2 Day Total for Mascoutah is 1.1” , sleet, freezing rain, ice rockets, freezing drizzle., freezing mist. Did not see any snow fall, not to say it didn’t in the overnight hours.
Like I said earlier, had to use my 3pt blade on my tractor to cut through this stuff on our parking lot.

For the second time this year, I have had to use my 3 point blade on my tractor to cut through the solid sheet of sleet/ice at my business. If I had not pre-treated it last night, I don't think I would have been able to cut through it. Also have had a fine mist most of the morning that had made the side roads a sheet of ice on top of the sleet

Mine is vintage also, Radio Shack Cat No12 247A QC Date 5 A8 Maybe mine is outdated. Haha. Have had it for about 10 yrs or so. Maybe longer. Mine is very old....It's a Radio Shack. There is a QC sticker on back that shows 04 A99. The 04 is an ink stamp so it might be 04/1999. Just guessing. No other date on the bottom label.

Hope you have your extended mag on. We are covered in snow geese in Mascoutah. Pretty good reverse migration happening......until tomorrow, then it will slow for a few days. Got some Memphis lows now showing up on the euro ensembles That's encouraging...I've been hunting in AR and haven't been keeping track of the models. But I'm still assuming this will come out flatter over all and models seem to be trending that way from the looks of it.

That’s one of the things that really sticks with me about the ‘82 storm, was the heaviest salt shaker snow I had ever seen, so fine, but heavy. And thunder/lightning to go along with it. Traffic cams in northern Arkansas show it ripping hamsters. I hope that translates here in a few hours. That stuff is intense! That's transitional zone stuff...isothermal layer near freezing. We're deeply within the arctic air now so it's just going to be finer flakes. But it's sure piling up efficiently and blowing around like crazy. Pure winter!

Agree, almost impossible to measure this stuff. We do have some drifts starting to build. Just guessing 2-3 so far We ended up shutting down the plant today, since we have a lot of employees that come from surrounding rural communities, out here where nobody lives. Woke to maybe 3"? It's being blown... so its almost impossible to measure. Strangely, the "aura" this morning is what woke me. What I mean is, thanks to the glowing of all the city and SAFB lights, its a lot brighter than normal. Sunrise isn't for another hour and 15 minutes. Good morning and I hope you all enjoy the snow.

I just scraped/cut as much sleet and ice as I could off my parking lot with a 3point blade, that stuff is tough, and I even put calcium chloride on it this morning

I use the desktop version on my Pixel 6, and he's right it takes up half the page. So much better now. Thank you ndolan387 - you're going to need to edit your snow totals list soon. Your post takes up half the page. Is that better? On the mobile version I can't see that and it's much smaller.

Well the Davis just came back up, and it's saying 26° outside, also shows low battery on transmitter. So that must be what the issue is, the batteries. You won't see me up on a metal building changing batteries today... Lol Davis also says it's 74° in my office 😂 Report of moderate sleet and freezing rain in New Athens--26.6*. Freezing rain in Marissa--Davis on the swingset is trash. 66* inside the house, if you're wondering.

Well, I guess it's time to order that new one, if they're available. The Davis must be froze up on the roof, I'm not getting any info off of it at the moment. Mine puked on me last year. It's been going out for a couple years now. Stopped measuring wind direction, and the solar charger went kaput. It would wake us in the middle of the night with a high or low temp siren. It's currently unplugged.

Just went out to put some calcium chloride on my parking lot in the UTV, and that sleet hurts your face when you turn to the north I just put salt on the drive way. It isn't pleasant when the wind blows. 31 here still... sleet all the way.

That’s how the Amish still live. I think it’s great, occasionally, get away from all the electronics. But not during one of our biggest snow storms...lol BRTN - you staying warm somehow? Wood stove warm, oil lamps bright, propane cooker being readied. We good out here.

Your correct, I’m not at the office where my Davis is, and my app is normally the base, but for some reason it’s not picking it up. We decided to open our business, with the possibility of a half day for our employees. Dropped 2 more degrees in the last half hour to 27* , and still looks like the rain, with Occasional slt Still 31 here. All rain. Ice is accretion is happening though.
