Man that north wind is impressive. No wonder this system got ripped apart! Feels like middle of January out there.

My Peonies started to come up in the last week. They are maybe about 4 inches out of the ground at this point. Should I cover them? They seem to be pretty hardy plants given the fact the first year I lived here I mowed them because I thought they were weeds.

Well this system can be chalked up as a complete and utter non-event for pretty much the entire area...other than the very cold temperatures. Astonishing failure in the modeling of this...one of the worst I've witnessed.

Astonishing failure in the modeling of this...one of the worst I've witnessed. Yea this one was a gut punch ..... we were 48 hours out looking at a 3 inch snowfall down this way only to get nothing for about the 7th time this year.... it's looking like this will be the first time in my 50 years on this planet I will not see an inch snowfall.... pretty pathetic

What a beautiful 4 inch April snow we are having tonight. So awesome. Models pegged this perfectly.
Said no one ever within 150 miles of St louis.

So... after this weekend, does it look like we have turned the corner meteprologically speaking? I am now past the point of hating this winters weather. BTW..I hear morels are showing up. I don't see how as cold as it is though.

Dusting of snow in Branson this morning

Dusting in Perryville this morning as well.
There have been a few morels showing up probably due to the couple days we had near 60 degrees with sunshine. We also had that one relatively warm night. They are dying to fruit! Next weekend the show will begin.

Strong signal in the ensembles of a big storm late next week. Definitely gonna have to keep an eye on that one for some severe weather from the plains on eastward, but the deterministic runs are somewhat limited in the expanse of the moisture rich warm sector for now.

True. And since snow isn't involved we probably won't see models melt down.

That was the coldest cardinal game I’ve been to. And it was during the middle of the day with full sunshine in April. We had tickets in the upper deck behind home plate but being in the shade with the wind was miserable. Had to eventually move down to the bleachers in the sun.

First inning we moved to a suite behind the plate. Nice to have good friends

Tornado warning in Idaho. Not everyday you see that. Couple funnel reports, but 1.75" hail was reported in the Idaho Falls with that storm.
