Those are some wicked storms south of Omaha Was just looking at that. There separate cells in that line tornado warned. That's nothing to fool around with.

Wow, KOAX measuring some 148kt winds at 5700ft in those storms Iowa. Really really impressive rear inflow jet there!
Several reports of 70+mph winds from that complex.
Edit: And a few tornado reports too.

I guess we need to hope for that complex to make it here "in some form."

Nothing like chasing with a lost voice. I can barely get a few words out. It will be a long 10 and 11pm news.
I did. manage to get a nice...albeit unproductive wall cloud. It had some tiny spinners/shear vorticies try and spun up... but nothing fancy.

So is that complex out to the NW going to miss us to the WSW tonight?

So is that complex out to the NW going to miss us to the WSW tonight? That and/or fall apart. We need its old boundaries tomorrow during daytime heating.

And, once again, the storms disintegrate before they get to the city. That, and a bunch of the energy went south like we wanted to have happen last night.

Look like I'll get in on some weakening storms here. Outflow produced some pretty strong gusts out ahead of the storms, estimating 40-45mph a couple times.

Had .02” just enough to hear it running in the gutters on the house. Heard thunder seen some lightning in the distance but not much of any gusts with the onset.

Officially moved in to Chicago last night. Going from 95 to 70 was nice. Worst things so far are the broadcasted Cubs games and the lack of snow. Hope to change one of those moving forward... The broadcasted Cubs games will end by October. The lack of snow will continue all winter because the storm track will keep the snow about 4 to 5 hours to the south. 😂

I had seen hints of a nw flow previously in the med range but it looks like thats going to be limited to the ne quadrant of the conus...leaving us in more of a persistent sw flow. Bottom line is triple digits get underway by the weekend with no real relief in sight. Big concern about heat especially second week out. When will it snow?
