12z GFS has very little relief, maybe a day with lower temps but still humid. Then back into the upper 90's next weekend. With the main rain remaining well north.

Very unusual to hit 100 with 850s ~20*C. Can only mix out so much.

Thank you coz. But honestly all my neighbors and my Davis are showing 101.2 was the high in at our houses in st.peters could That be due to a micro like drought where we have been missed by all the rain

Not saying it's impossible... looking at the NAM sounding this afternoon we are roughly 24*C about 1km up. Dry adiabatic lapse rates are just below 10*C/KM- so that's takes us to 34*C or 93-94*F. On days like these... we certainly get super adiabatic rates but to add another 3-4* is very tough to do- but the drier the air the better chance of that happening.

Lotta of 'home' weather stations were showing between 99 to 102 in west Belleville according to weatherunderground areas around us were in the 93 to 97 range, so definitely some 'micro drought' action going on. Think my place would of topped 100 today or very close to it. Might I say it was just a touch toasty out there. I can deal with the heat however; its the infernal sun I can deal without, which is what makes it feel much worse.

Hints of a much worse heat wave in time for the big holiday (the 4th), should be hotter than a fire cracker. GFS showing record challenging heat around that time with 103 to 107 given 27-30C 850MB height temps depending on mixing. If we stay rain free this coming week we're gonna be blast furancing. Dewpoint points in the upper 70s to low 80s would make it feel hotter than a Borg ship from Star Trek. (Just isn't a summer if I don't mention that at least a couple times. )

Have to take home weather stations with a grain of salt since many are located on rooftops or near pavement, etc. I honestly did not think it felt as nasty as I would have expected. It was steamy, but not unmanageable for me.

You watch the cubs and they just carry themselves differently. This team used to be like that...idk if it's the manager but I think his time may be running out.

Now if he'd stick around I'm all in but history has shown that these young superstars would prefer the luster of the big coastal cities over little ol St. Louie.

I have an on line friend who has been advocating it for several years. But I'm beginning to go to his way of thinking that it may be time for Matheny to go. I haven't watched a Cardinal game all year. I agree - about as exciting as watching paint dry; as much fire as dirty dish water.

He was LUCKY the first couple of years. Made all kinds of moves that were wrong that worked. Luck ran out. I STILL want Oquendo. C'mon Cardinals. Show some backbone and do the deed. Don't think I don't like Mike. He's a very good man. Just not a good manager. Some got it........

Another extreme UV day with UV Alert in effect, UV Index approaching 13 this afternoon especially if clouds remain largely absent. Brings new meaning to 'blazing sunshine'.
Might need to invent a new warning/headline called a Hazardous Environment Warning when it's dangerous to be outside for more then 5 mins at time due to 2 or more factors. I.E. Heat, Air Pollution, UV, etc.
