Surprised no one has mentioned the STWA that was hoisted by SPC...almost as surprised to see one posted! Thinking any severe will be pulse in nature given the meager winds aloft...but plenty of instability out there. So... they put a watch out for today's event... but we have to all but beg them to put one out for Thursday night? Am I missing something? The SPC throws a curve ball at least a few times a year...usually during the cool months.

That line in IL is clearly outflow dominant. There are areas where the outflow is surging out in front of the cells by up to 10 nm. The watch is questionable no doubt. But even more questionable is that it was posted with a moderate risk of significant hail. Anything is possible I suppose, but the ILX special sounding showed only 13kts of effective shear and VWP derived shear isn't much better at the moment.

Yeah there's no way the shear is strong enough to sustain strong/mature updrafts and large hail formation...

We're getting nailed here in Litchfield. Rain rate is over 10" per Hour. I went from .10 from the first round to 1.27" and counting in just 20 minutes...

Had a few gusts that pushed 40 mph with the west county line. Nice summer downpour... not much more than that.

AARRRGGGGHHHHH.......I think is what Charlie Brown says after Lucy pulls the football. #4 fail is in the books. I will wait for further instructions. I'm pretty sure I am following directions but missing something.

if you just link the URL from imgur itself you don't need to attach it as an image in the message? I'm not sure what method you're using

If we can keep getting these weak little backdoor cool fronts, this summer will be tolerable. A few days of the big heat isn't a big deal...its the weeks of it on end that wear you down. A step down into the upper 80's to near 90 with a decrease in humidity here and there really makes a difference.
