the good news is that July would need to go full-on 1930's or '50's for awhile for us to even think about true drought around here right now. My backyard is a hot, swampy mud pit. At least its an excuse to still not mow the lawn out in this muck.

Heat Index got up to 100* here this afternoon. Not as bad as the past few days but not exactly comfortable out either

I could see some pretty good coverage tomorrow- there is some mid level energy coming thru- 700 temps not bad at 9-10* and little or no cap

Fingers crossed. Take anything since I largely missed out on the last two or three times others have gotten copious amounts.

Kinda muggy out on the cape today. Still only gonna hit 80 though. Onshore flow going from south. We are oceanfront. Our deck sits 60-80 ft from the Atlantic. Had dew so heavy on the chairs on our deck this AM it looked like it rained. I could imagine the insane frost they could get here.

I went to the Gateway Arch over my lunch break to check out the new renovations which had their grand opening today. It's pretty cool. The setup is much better and the security line moves really fast. There's lots of activity setting up for Fair St. Louis as well. It looks like the weather should cooperate for tomorrow and looks decent for the weekend as well.

The Tham Luang Nang Non cave is located in northern Thailand very close to the Myanmar border. The nearest city for which I can find climatology for is Tachileik in Myanmar. This location can expect 23 and 25 days of rain and 10" and 13" of rain in July and August respectively. July and August are the rainiest months of the year. The GEFS and ECMWF both show about 2-3" of rain over the next 10 days in this area. And in looking at topographical maps the main watershed area would be to the north in Myanmar. Obviously this in reference to the youth soccer team that is trapped in the flooded cave there.

Guyatcomputer, for some reason they love me at our cabin! I’m getting rather tired of them! It’s not like I sit on the ground! And I just sat on our swing and walked between cabin and trailer, trying to get it ready for our trip! I’m ready for biting flies instead! Sheesh! Fireworks won’t be fun!

Fireworks won’t be fun! “Like“ isn't the right sentiment so I won't click that. But I will say having gotten bitten on numerous occasions (including once during a cold winter - I still haven't figured that one out) I know how damned uncomfortable those buggers can make one. You have my sympathy

These mid to upper 70 dewpoints can go away anytime now. I don’t know if I sweated more in my life than doing our firework show last night

Saw this in the Washington Post today. Not much you can add to this
As we reported, Quriyat, Oman, posted the world’s hottest low temperature ever recorded on June 28: 109 degrees (42.6 Celsius).

I am 96 and 74 in st.peters. why has the westplex been running so darn hot. It is almost that we are always 2 to 5 degrees hotter than Lambert several times this summer. Just odd. What changed. Is it because we have not had as much rain as the surrounding areas.

I actually have noticed that I've been reading very close to what the airport is on hot days this year.

Like the "Patchy smoke between 9pm and 12am" in my current NWS forecast. I'm betting this is one forecast that will over perform in the High Ridge area.
