Hopefully there's enough chemicals on the roads and there's enough drying as the temp drops tonight. The roads are just wet enough and there's just enough gunk on the roads that refreezing and black ice could be a problem..

We might need to watch that little clipper/Colorado low that zips through on Thursday...if that comes in a little colder there could be some snow or a mix with it. Also, the strength of that wave could have an impact on the thermal profile behind it for the next storm.

I actually hate the euro lol. Damn, if it comes out that flat I'm toast. Oh well, have to think my time is coming with the parade of storms. Worth mentioning the euro already show 40-45 mph wind gusts. That could be important depending on precip type. Don't they have some type of Chicago weather board for you? I hate everything about Chicago...Lol....This is OUR year for a change... |

Persistent light snow falling the past hour or so..very small fine flakes at the beginning. Flake size has grown a bit since the onset

Every system and even every pattern is unique some ways obviously, but the tendency this year is for storms to spin easily. A less progressive wrapped up shortwave like what the 18z GFS makes sense to me. However, that doesn't mean the track will be favorable for us...might be, but might not.

Yeah, the 18z GFS has a 24mb+ pressure gradient across MO...blizzard material.

Light snow falling here and temp has dropped apparently (no thermometer nearby to verify, just snow is sticking). Everything is being dusted with a fresh white coating.
