Light snow in Pacific already. Enough to not be considered “flurries.” Even a few “snow snakes” on the roads. Yep. I’m here, too. Not flurries, it’s super fine snow. Starting to collect on cars. 9 degrees

Cpc is forecasting enhanced probs of below normal temps and above normal precip next 2 weeks. We may be dawning on a wintry february. Near term cpc has high wind hazard north of i70 early next week. Buckle up! I think we will see op models trending to a cold and snowy pattern in the next few days

Nice steady light snow Wentzville , 3 degrees will likely drop just below zero during the snow, dew points are well below zero

Any idea what the stronger radar echoes are showing up east of Mascoutah and New Athens? Steam from a power plant solidifying in the cold maybe? I noticed that too and first thought it was foul flying from Baldwin lake but that may actually be snow from the Baldwin Power plant stacks. It has 3 very large smoke stacks. It burns coal.
East of Mascoutah and NA would be from Lively Grove, if anything.
EDIT: Just looked at the loop. I'd lean toward birds. Anything coming from Baldwin isn't going to be blowing north.

Donut hole closing up over de soto. Very, very small flakes falling. 13* so it must be very small snowflakes. Heavy radar returns to the south and west. WTH, I thought it was trending north.

Very efficient though. Our roads are dusted already here in the subdivision.

Not a very impressive artic air mass though. We see snow and below 0 temps routinely. Meh It only got down to -4.1 at my house, not -5 It only got up to 5.9 at my house, not 7. Forecast was off..by like 16-18%.

That was the part that made me wonder if it was something else. Especially since their seemed to be several distinct plumes rather than a single one coming from a power plant.

You might want to check your thermometer...there is no way way your still-2 I was just in St. Peter’s and it was 4-5 degrees everywhere. Look at all the weather bug stations around there no one is below zero in St Charles county.

Yeah and I misread and thought he meant over by Marrisa and I also discounted birds because they would not be flying north though the moment isn't easy to see but it looks to be moving NE. Smoke wouldn't be moving north either though today. I mean, I wouldn't think they would be flying north today but what do I know. Snow also shouldn't be moving north.

There are a few spots that did not get above zero in the northern metro, including Edwardsville on the weather bug
