Its verification scores are third, so that makes sense. This is what I am referring to I got that from a tweet by Ryan Maue. I didn't grab the link though. He is a very frustrating Twitter follow. Amazing information related to weather, but extremely political and in your face about it.

Wow I just looked at the 0z NAM , at hour 84 it has the cold front through St. Louis well south with a temp of 20 and dew point 18 at 6am Tuesday. I know it has a cold bias, but that is by far colder than any model at that time frame.,

How funny would it be if the Euro comes in colder and snowy next run. I fully expect that to happen with how the models have been lately

12z gfs targets northern Missouri and far northern Illinois with ice. Metro gets a lot of rain.
The differences between runs and models are pretty staggering.

I haven't posted much because there is no blocking. A SE ridge. Heights scream torch. I said this a few days ago when I said this isn't for us. That's ridiculous guys. To think we have any chance for a winter event with that fire hose. It's going to rain all the way to Quebec.

Have we really even had much blocking this winter? Yet we are still above normal with snowfall. So it isn’t a requirement for winter weather it would appear

Ah, I think I have the perfect analogy and it’s to coffee.
Crappuweather. It’s the Starbucks of coffee. The same thing you can get at home, almost, but way over-priced and almost never get your order right, but when they do, you feel pretty special.
NWS. It’s your home coffee brewer. It’s nothing fancy or over the top, but it’s reliable and it’s always there. Brews a pretty darn good cup of coffee almost all of the time.
Local Mets. These guys are your non chain, feel good coffee shops. They know what you want almost every time and are part of the community. They know reputation is what matters most. That comes from being prompt, and just giving you what you want without trying to upcharge you.
The Euro. Just like European coffee, it’s strong and gets the job done. It’s better left black so you can savor all the flavors.
The Icon. It’s not coffee, it’s beer. Most mornings, a beer isn’t what you want, but the morning you do, it’s there. But, it also always tries to push the beer. Doesn’t even acknowledge coffee exists.
The GFS. Americans aren’t known for their coffee. It tries by adding different roasts, grinds, flavors, but it never really turns out good. Every once in a great while though, everything comes together, which keeps you coming back.
The Nam. It’s not coffee either. It’s Red Bull, rip its, and monster all mixed together. It’s great if you’ve had too much Icon.
The Canadian. It’s iced coffee. Kinda like coffee, but cold. So many flavors that you just know it isn’t right. Ultimately, it tastes fine, but you know it’s not really coffee, in the traditional, good way.

Punxsutawney Phil says a early spring! We’ll see, as we are halfway through winter! Everyone starts looking with their binoculars for the light at the end of the tunnel! Is that why Easter is on 4/21 this year? Because Phil ain’t right? We shall see!

I'd Believe St. Louis' groundhog more, but as the Zoo doesn't do that anymore since Lily passed away or stopped after a couple years cause she was nippy, (understandably as they don't like being drugged out of their burrows just so we humans can look to see if there's a shadow or not.) we don't get a 'local' prediction.
