Not impressed with the fv3. Hardly ever look at it. It's a very poor excuse for an upgrade to the gfs.

I come in here and after getting caught up on the new posts I look at Radarscope and see the tornado warnings. I create a post about it and 920 and Snowman beat me to it. Lol. I swear we all have weather esp in here!

You could be sitting in northern Wisconsin looking at the radar and wondering just how bad your 15+” is going to bust

I'm going to guess the potential for some flash freezing tomorrow is pretty good. But the winds will be up too, that may dry things out some before it gets too cold. But I certainly wouldn't think it would all dry out with all the damn rain..lots of runoff and puddles should freeze.

other than that, this pattern is a disaster.

I don’t plan to put any salt out with the stout west/northwest wind tomorrow gusting to 35-40 mph it’ll dry out a lot faster then you would think.

Anyone know...
When Radarscope shows lightning does it show only CG? Or does it show the CC and GC as well?

The pattern is awful.
Maybe a chance for light snow/mix this weekend.
Then a cutter.

All I see on models, is cutter, cutter cutter, after cutter, cutter and another cutter. It's going to rain so f****** much, I'll never be able to walk on solid dry ground again until August. The euro ensembles looked good for a few days..but now are crappy again. That se ridge has got to go. Bastardi insists it will, but he always does, haha.

2nd night in a row I have been woken up by Thunder..... in February.....unreal Really tired last night so I accidentally fell asleep early on the couch. Then... Woke up to husband going to bed at 11. Woke up to weather alert from WI because I forgot to turn off my phone ringer. Woke up to emergency test on the tv (recorded show) because I forgot to turn it off. Woke up to Amber Alert. Woke up to a little thunder/downpour around 4:30. It's going to be a long day. Pony in all of this, it's not an ice storm.

Anyone know... When Radarscope shows lightning does it show only CG? Or does it show the CC and GC as well? If I remember correctly, it uses static discharge sensors. If it detects a discharge it shows as lightning. Not 100% though. I would assume it would show CC too.

Anyone know... When Radarscope shows lightning does it show only CG? Or does it show the CC and GC as well? I believe it's CG only if your lightning server is set to Radarscope (as it is by default). At least that's what their website says. If you have an Allisonhouse subscription I believe you can configure the feed to also supply CC lightning.

Remember when everyone was wanting these stupid midlatitude cyclones?
I would take some shearing with a side of extra shear right about now.

Lots of lightning and torrential rain in Perryville this morning. I'm ready for this stupid system to get out of here.
The SE ridge is indeed killing us. Also, if it persists into the spring, there should be some major severe weather outbreaks like we haven't seen in several years. It has been pretty quiet on that front for a while. Well, other than the EF-4 I could have seen from my front porch two years ago. There was that.

Precip will be limited Sunday.
But the models have us in the mid to upper 20s.
So freezing rain is very possible.
