Latest hrrrrrr drops a quarter inch of freezing rain across the southern half of the area
That would not be ideal

Oh your saying that's the forecast not scars happening right now?
The modeled warm nose is very thin.
I think the immediate metro might just be sleet if not snow.
Maybe end with light freezing rain.
Further South some decent freezing rain is likely
Hopefully that warm nose is washed out and we get everything white.

euro nice snow storm in 8-9 days. GFS has it too, only it's ice on it. This upcoming pattern looks ripe for some winter weather around here
Lots of cold air coming down from western and central canada while the southern jet stays active underneath

Looks like a good freezing rain setup going off the hrrr soundings

Looks more sleet to me- would even think flakes would make it thru too.

Looks like a good freezing rain setup going off the hrrr soundings That's a pretty decent cold layer at the surface. Probably sleet. Probably starts as graupel then snow.

That lift/omega thru the dgz.... I would have to think flakes make it thru even with the little warm layer.

That lift/omega thru the dgz.... I would have to think flakes make it thru even with the little warm layer. With lift like that there is definitely the chance the warm layer gets shunted/washed out until the precip let's up

That lift/omega thru the dgz.... I would have to think flakes make it thru even with the little warm layer. I did cherry pick that sounding under a heavy band of precep
I could see the heavier burst of precipitation being a sleet/snow mix with the lighter returns being freezing rain/sleet

Looks like some light sleet mixed with a bit of ZR here. No flakes. Bummer Radar indicates a lot of dry air effecting things. Let us know if snow mixes in.
